What about dessert for breakfast?

Hi all - I just started on South Beach yesterday and so far so good - although I do have a headache, but it's been a long day.

Anyhow, what do you think about switching things around a bit and having dessert for breakfast? I've always had a sweet tooth and the mock danish or ricotta cream sounds like it would be a good way to start the day rather than eggs. However, I don't know if it would cause me to crave sweets all day if I don't start out with protein.

I haven't done it yet, but I made these custard cups from the cookbook that are in the fridge right now and I'm debating whether to have one tonight for a snack or save it for breakfast.

well, the mock danish is made with eggs and cream cheese - so you will be getting your protein! ::yes:: I think it's a great idea!

If you can get through the first couple of weeks, you could add some toast back in. I have one slice of whole wheat low carb toast (Arnolds) with a small amount of natural peanut butter and smuckers sugar free jelly. Also, if you can't stomache eggs, try some leftovers from last nights dinner. BTW, I think custard cups would be fine for breakfast (made with Splenda?).

Protein is what will keep you from being hungry. The ricota cheese thing might work for you. Sometimes in the morning I get my calcium from low fat ice cream.
