What about "Big Cedar Lodge" in Missouri?

Anyone ever used their DVC points to go on small getaways or even longer? I've been looking at "big cedar lodge" in MO and it seems awesome!

However - I don't know what's the better deal - getting a package and paying cash vs. using your points? Does anyone have experience with this?

While we have not researched the value of cash vs points, we have stayed on points several times at Big Cedar and LOVE IT!!!
The resort is beautiful, lots to do and see, and only minutes from the Branson attractions.

Our first add on was a result of staying at Big Cedar and having such a great time!!

Yes, my family (me, DW, DD 16, DS 13) has stayed at Big Cedar Lodge three times. Twice were on points for a honeymoon cabin with loft and the second time in a two bdrm cabin. We have not stayed, or looked, at the lodges. Big Cedar has entered the timeshare business with The Big Cedar Wilderness Club with Bluegreen Vacation Club. You can now get a good rate if you attend the 90 minute presentation. We bought in May (our third timeshare now) and are planning our first stay in March. We love it there. I believe the two bdrm was 47 points a night when we stayed vs a rack rate of $400 +tax. We used points because we had the points and could save money out of our pocket. Like dizneelivr said there is lots to do at the lodge and you are close to Branson (Live show capital of the world). Check out BigCedarLodge.com.
