WHAT?? A whole weekend of STAR WARS???

I have seen and heard little BLIPS about the Star Wars weekend and would LOVE to see pictures from those who have gone.



I am trying to get my brother (30 yrs. old) totally excited about a WDW trip and I think that the whole Star Wars thing would "SEAL THE DEAL!"

A few other Questions???........


When is it?
Do they do it every year?
Is the whole MGM park themed around this event?
How many characters come out?
Can you get pics and sigs from the characters?
My brother has 2 little girls (6 mos. & 2 yrs.) ... will they get scared?

Star Wars Weekends goes from about mid-May to mid-June. There are several "face" characters, a parade (which I've had the pleasure of marching in as a stormtrooper...I'm part of a SW costuming club), a few actors from the movies show up and are also part of the parade, meet & greets, and a few different small events (i.e. when I was there a few years ago, they had the Cantina band and a Jedi training session).

It's a fun event, and it's unlikely the children will get scared.

We went June 2-9th - and were there for a Star Wars weekend. I must admit it was purely coincidental as we are not big SW fans like many that go. THere were lots of characters - I saw the Princess with the geisha looking face (I haven't even seen that movie!) - and Chewbacca and I know there were more. The lines were VERY long to get pictures with the characters. It was all near the Star Wars ride, which was so crowded we didn't get to. We did see Stormtroopers on top of the MGM entrance - see my photo - it was cute - LOL - they were commenting on "look at all the humans - carrying our royalty on special thrones (talking about the babies and children in strollers being our royalty) -

We were there in early June, and we decided to go to MGM on the 3rd, which happened to be a Star Wars weekend. I cannot say that it was fun for us, as the park was double as crowded, and we are not Star Wars fans. And my final expirience with Millionaire Play-it was a Star Wars version, which made me somewhat unhappy.

When I marched in the parade, no one was picked to be in it....it was only our club members, their CMs dressed up as the main characters, and the actors themselves. It's not like Disney's regular parades where they'll choose a family or child or something. We marched because our costuming club had been specially invited by Disney (and approved by LucasFilm Ltd) months before Star Wars Weekends.
