Tonight I'm going to shoot Candlebox and Hoobastank. Tuesday night I've got Breaking Benjamin and Godsmack, Wednesday night is dManufacture, and Saturday I'm shooting Ziggy Marley!

Then the following Saturday I've got Papa Roach, Monday is Disturbed, Flyleaf, Stone Sour, and Nonpoint, and then Tuesday is Powerman 5000!

After that there's a couple more shows in December, and it starts right back up in January. I'm already booking shows into March!

Wow... You are shooting at the concerts right? And when exactly is your hearing exam??? :rotfl:

Seriously, that sounds like FUN, FUN, FUN to me, and worth the hearing loss!!!

No hearing loss, in fact I got tested again a few months ago and am within the normal range for my age. I wear custom made earplugs prescribed and fitted by my audiologist that attenuate over all frequencies and cut out 30 db. So I still hear everything and it sounds great, but at a much lower volume. In all honesty now that most bands use in-ears, stage volume is lower than it used to be, and I am not in front of the PA, it's usually to the side of me pointed away from me. So the audience gets a lot more volume than I do.

Staind being an exception, man those guys are L-O-U-D even after I cut out 30 db!

AHAHAHA! In reality I shouldn't know who any of them are either at my age! If you hadn't known me for a long time, you'd think I was having a mid-life crisis. I've got a t-shirt that says "It's Not A Phase" across the front, and I guess that pretty well sums it up.

I had a publicist asking me to take part in a "Press Day" with a new band who is definitely too alternative to be anything I'd be interested in covering. I wrote back and said "Julie, I pretty much don't cover anything that you wouldn't expect a mosh pit in the audience at one of their shows." :rotfl: I want nothing to do with being in the pit, but I find it amusing to watch! I watch it from either the back of the house or the stage side of the barricade, depending on the venue.

Tommy or Shannon?

Anne

Ziggy Marley--wow! I love him! Papa Roach is interesting as well.

The one band I'm most looking forward to seeing is Breaking Benjamin. After that I'd say Nonpoint--LOVE those guys, but I just saw them a month ago, and it's been a full year for BB.

it has the whole band with shannon. we were lucky enough to meet them on New years eve at the hard rock at universal studios. they had their families there so it was a well behaved crowd.. now my dd thinks she gets to meet every band we go see!

Aaron solo isn't as bad. It's when you've got the Aaron, Mike, Jon, and Johnny show going that it's insanely loud. I actually heard people from the audience complaining about how loud they were at hard Rock Live last month after the show. I don't know how Mushock isn't deaf at this point.

That said, still wear earplugs. I think the only show I might not wear them for would be Cowboy Junkies, and even then, I'd probably wear "foamies" which cut out about 17% of the sound--although they make a mess of the sound.

I'm excited and think it'll be a good challenge however, I figure I can do better than some promo kid with a p&s which is what we usually do.

We did a 30 Seconds to Mars show last week but I didn't cover it, I did Barenaked Ladies instead. I'm past deadline on my review of Aerosmith/Motley Crue friday night but since Vince sounded so bad I have nothing to say other than 'Steven Tyler made Vince Neil sound like the lead singer in a washed up Motley Crue cover band'. 2 days, I've written one sentence, lol.

Last week was Barnaked Ladies, Brad Paisley/Carrie Underwood, Motley Crue/Aerosmith...this week I have Cross Canadian Ragweed, All American Rejects and Aaron Lewis and Robert Earl Keen next week.

I must be really old. I've only heard of Ziggy Marley. Have fun anyway! LOL!

Having a 15 year old daughter will keep you up on current music. I took her and some fiends to see Staind, Three Days Grace and 2 others a while back. We have tickets for Justin Timberlake and Pink when they come to our area. She isn't a huge Justin fan but we both like Pink. Unfortunately, we don't get many big name acts any closer than Dallas.
She wants to know if she can come and spend the next week with you Anne.
Have a great time!

wow, considring the price of a ticket for this show, you'd think he'd really go all out. they are playing a few miles from where i live, i'm glad i didn't "invest" in those tickets.

anne??? where is godsmack playing? down here they are playing at a radio festival in a park. i hate going to open outdoor venues, but wouldn't mind travelling if it's a good location.
