Ever since I started with WW I have bought their low calorie meals. I've never used them for dinner but usually take a WW meal, M&S Count On Us Meal or a Tesco Low Cal meal to work with me for lunch. This has worked well since I prefer a small breakfast.

Last Monday I had the WW chicken and tomato with potato wedges. As I ploughed my way through the meal I quickly realised there was more wedges than chicken. So I decided I could make better myself instead. Worked out my menus for the week and bought the extra things I needed.

I've just made the first lunch for tomorrow ~ Chicken with noodles, mange tout, peppers with sweet chilli and soy sauce. Cost to make was the grand total of 50p. Which makes a saving of £2 per meal. Now I did buy a big back of chicken. With the exception of the Chinese spice which I bought (for a meal later in the week) everything else I used is stuff we would have normally. So deducting my bag of chicken, which will do 15 lunches. I have made a saving of £6. That is a saving of approximately £282 and I'm sure I can think of something else to spend that on:rolleyes1

Fingers crossed that it tastes ok for tomorrow:)

Florence I don't think it is just lo-cal. Any ready meal is £££ more.
Much better with fresh ingredients :)

90% of the time I make mine & Gavin's lunch for work, on the days I dont I certainly see a difference in my bank balance!

:yay:

I joined ww last year and have so far lost 2st7lb. The biggest problem i find is that i tend to eat the same things week in week out. If somebody could come and cook me some new recipes that would be fantstic. Since there is little chance of that happening i will have to get the recipe books out. Hope your meal taste great.

I have noticed that quite often the healthy eating stuff is more expensive. Fruit flakes never seem to be on special offer either.

The portions are tiny as well!! Or is it just me that thinks that.....

i dread to think how much ive spent on weightwatchers over the years:sad2:
£5 per meeting and i buy loads of the producys as well

Well my lunch was really nice ~ Went a little over board with the soy sauce but apart from that it was lovely:thumbsup2

Glad it worked out well!! Think i may be off to the shops this evening to try it out myself!

I love to cook but on the weeks i finish at 7pm i just cant be bothered half the time!

Glad your lunch was nice Flo.

I agree about the low-cal ready meals - they do work out expensive. Having said that though, I've just had one tonight - DS's get dinner at my mums after school and DH is working away this week, so I won't cook for myself when I get in from work, and I know the exact amount of calories I've eaten.

I very rarely buy the weight watchers meals, mainly because they don't look as good as they do on the front of the packet, and thay don't really fill you up. I would rather just try and eat sensibly.
