What a plan! Simple, yet insane. **New 4/19 Link to new PTR**

Way to go Tracy! I love that you surprised Bill with the trip!

I get what you said about people making assumptions about Bill & his disability... we live with the opposite and it's just as frustrating! Our boys' "invisible disabilities" causes people to make assumptions about their behavior & our parenting skills! :sad2:

Ugh... I hear you on the overweight thing... I used to be a size 2... Really the one person that gives me a hard time about weight is my own mother... :guilty: I honestly don't get it, she has always been bigger than me, so I don't know why she insists on being hurtful... I would never say any of the things that she does...

I am so very sorry that your Mom does that to you, I don't get that either. You are beautiful just the way you are .

Hi Amy, thank you. Bill is so sweet to me, I wanted to do something for him.

I am so sorry people make assumptions about the boys, people need to learn compassion and just mind their own business .

Another trip!! VERY nice!! :thumbsup2 Bill has done such a great job- 3 degrees- WOW!!! :worship:

We are awful, we were talking last night and both thought it would be more fun to spend those extra days in Disney then in the mountains :rotfl:. I had to remind him and myself that we are there to spend time with his family and we will be going back to Disney later in the year.

Bill has been working for a long time towards a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Administration. He has 3 other degrees, but due to his disability, his speech impediment, and how his right arm is spastic, people assume he has a mental disability as well as a physical one. This makes me angry

and frustrates Bill to no end.

Next installment… Where do I go from here with planning?

My favorite example of this is when I took my 9 year old nephew to a restaurant. I was in my manual WC. The waiter came up to Daniel and asked him what he wanted to eat. Then he said, "And what does SHE (with emphasis on she) want to eat?"

It struck me the wrong way and so I said, "SHE only has problems with her body--HER brain works quite well--and with an IQ of 132, probably better than yours!" I then proceeded to order.

I felt bad about it afterward, but at the time it was just another straw heaped on!

Oh no!! Then you'll be aghast at what I"m going to do in Sept.!!!

Servers do that to Bill all the time, they ask me instead of him. So I look at Bill and say "I don't know, BILL what do you want?" from then on they talk to Bill instead of me. It is highly annoying. I am glad you did that to the waiter, they needed to learn a lesson.

I would never be aghast at you. I see Bill trying to get out of going to the mountains in May and I really won't argue too much if he does :rotfl:.

One of my problems with that situation was that my nephew was 9 years old. There were only the two of us. Who did they think was going to pay for the meal!?!?!?:confused:

I love that you surprised Bill with the trip! He totally deserves it. And now that you have the AP, you've got to get your monies worth, right? Love the Disney math! :teacher:

Dang it! I missed the beginning of this thing and boy...did it move fast!!!

I'm so excited for you guys to be going back 3 times this year! I love your reports Tracy! I swear one of these days we really do need to meet up!!

That person was totally rude and clueless.

:rotfl: A lot of chit chat and I love it. I am excited too, unless something bad happens all 3 trips are a go . I would love to meet you!

I may be big but I can walk a long way especially if I have a purpose, like a castle, a huge tree, a big hat, or the World Showcase :rotfl:.
:lmao: Love it!! DH always gives me a hard time because I am very out of shape and get winded very easily, but when we are at DW, he is the one trying to keep up with me!! I love that you surprised Bill with the trip. :lovestruc

:rotfl2: Too funny!!! Sounds like something I would do.

I just get this huge burst of energy every time we are there. I am always saying Bill come on!" :rotfl:.

I should explain- I will have about 3 days with my sister in DC coming up in Aug/ Sept. and am actually going to take a few hours out to have a DISMeet! Even though I only see her about once every 3 years!! :scared1: We aren't that close, so I don't feel horrible about it- too much. I guess, I'm more excited about meeting the people I talk with everyday. :confused3:thumbsup2

There is nothing wrong with scheduling a DISmeet while visiting your sister. I call that multitasking!! I am the same way about wanting to meet people I talk with everyday. I made a comment to Bill that I don't even care about meeting new people around here, but love the idea of meeting people from here and Enchanted :confused3.

was on TV. Ha. Did you see me? I'm a natural. - Mike from Monsters, Inc.

When Bill first brought up the idea of going on this trip the first thing that popped into my mind, well besides the money factor was ADR’s. They are also known as Advanced Dining Reservations, priority seating, etc. I knew the system had gone back to 180 days and that meant thousands of people had a 93 day jump on me

.

Then I got to thinking about how things in Bill’s life were changing and he really did deserve this trip. As I said he worked very hard for his degree, he is working part time at a job where they are essentially giving him busy work and not even giving him a chance to do anything else which frustrates him a lot, and he has recently started volunteering for an agency that does advocacy work for the disabled. He is the regional director for our area and feels he can really make a difference. In February, he organized the first meeting for our area in over 2 years. He even got the local news station to come out and cover it, hence the quote. Bill recorded the news on the DVR so we wouldn’t miss it. We were watching it when Ace took an interest:

He jumped right up there and started making noises, not growls, he makes certain noises when he notices things on the TV, it cracked us up it was like he was talking.

I figured the ADR’s were not going to make or break this trip, Bill just wanted to be in Disney where he feels “normal”, so I was going to do my best to make that happen. While he was playing a baseball game on the PS3 I got on the WDW website and started searching for ADR’s.

I knew LeCellier would be out, but I tried, I tried for any day the 6 days we were going to be there but it was a no go, so what, big deal. Bill wanted to try Tutta Italia anyway. We went when it was Alfredo’s and it was really tight to get his wheelchair around, but we are going at 4:30pm so I figured maybe we might get a table towards the exit.

On to the next choice, Narcoossee’s on a Saturday night, I am dreaming right? Well wishes come true my friend - I got it for the exact time I wanted. We are planning to see Spectro and Wishes twice this trip so I figured we would have a nice, lovely early dinner before heading over to MK that night. There will be a surprise for him this night but I will get to that later.

I also got Chef Mickey’s on this trip because for some reason we always seem to miss this restaurant. There are a couple of other ADR’s but I might be switching them around if another surprise I am working on happens.

All in all I am happy with the reservations.

Next up… Another reason why May was a good idea

Tracy, way to go on surprising Bill with the trip. How exciting.

The whole judging a book by it's cover thing drive's me crazy. I'm so sorry you have to go through that with Bill and his disability. Like DisMomAmy people assume because my son Jonnie looks "normal" that every time they see him display "odd" behavior that it must be a parenting problem. I have had people in grocery stores make comments about my parenting in regards to his stimming .

Yeah on getting Narcoossees and the other ADR's! I so want to try Narcoosees. Can't wait to hear about the surprise.

 People need to learn patience and compassion. The first thing I think when a child is displaying "odd" behavior is that there might be an underlying situation and not to judge. It really isn't anyone elses business what your child is doing in the grocery store.

We have been to Narcoosee's once and we both really enjoyed it. We had a view of the castle and could see the fireworks from our table. Now if it hadn't been cold that night many people would have been out in the observation area so we were lucky our view wasn't blocked. Bill loved the surf and turf and we both loved the cheesecake. The service was fantastic!

I love the pic of Ace watching Bill on TV... He seems like a dog with a lot fo personality... You always get the best pictures of him! :goodvibes
