what a piece of crap website

This website is a heritage to how systems used to be. Stop trying to obliterate history. Disney is one of the few companies that cares enough to show how systems used to be in the pre stone age (wrt computers).
Besides, those hamsters they have running on the wheel to power their systems are getting old. When they get tired, the system goes down. Have some sympathy people.

I just shipped DVC and old IBM PC that I had in storage. This model didn't have a hard drive but I didn't want to confuse them with technology. Hopefully they can put it to good use and maybe it will help them fix the website access to the applications that we need to use our membership.

Next we should try a "go fund me page" in Disney's name. We may or may not get donations but the publicity that they receive may wake them up.

:P:P:P ...and everyone thought that the Mainframe on Spaceship Earth was a PROP :). Brilliant - hide the DB Server for MDE right in plain site :).

I agree. The new trees and information organization is much worse. Instead we got lots of marketing info....and info to learn about DVC up front and center.

I think you can go to your dashboard and if you scroll to the bottom you'll see point totals and if you click on that you'll be taken to the points page.

It's not a member website with some marketing, it's a marketing website with minimum member functionality.

So I just got two emails from Member Services that said how much they were looking forward to my visits and confirmed one trip I did NOT book for someone I do NOT know and changed a trip that I had booked for a friend from a 2bdrm at VWL to a 1bdrm at AKV!!! I am so upset! If they have let the 2 bdrm go to book the 1bdrm then the friend will be first very upset and second not able to go because of the number of guests! Not to mention the reservation is for late October so this is going to be a nightmare! Guess I will be calling first thing in the morning. Wish me luck!

The notice said it would be down starting at 2:30 eastern on July 15th. However 4 hours ahead of that now I've just been spinning my wheels for almost 1/2 an hour getting thrown out over and over and then looking at the 7 dwarves saying they're working on it. :headache:

This website is just plain bad. Today we are getting the famous error505 and finding things is a joke. I likes how everything was upfront on teh screen before, now it just looks like an advertisment for a timeshare. I can understand having it look that wasy before you log in but upon login you should go to a site similar to what we have had for the last 3-5 years.

About a year ago, when I logged into the website, I saw someone else's information and none of mine!! It took hours on the phone with the IT dept to get things figured out. Coincidentally, this member lives within 15 miles of me, from what I could tell by her address. It was very creepy and scary as we both had vacations booked, but very different ones.

I have several vacations currently booked (two with split stays) which I have linked to my MDE resort confirmation #s. Just the other day, I noticed on MDE that one of my resort stays had my address as something else, which I think was this other member's address!!! I quickly changed it and sent an email to DVC. This was about a week ago and I'm just now remembering that I never got a reply. I didn't get my Incredible welcome pamphlet for that stay, but I did for the others... :sad2:. This other member has no idea about the website mix up, so would not understand why they got something in the mail.

This whole thing is :scared1:

Yes - I started getting that again yesterday. Trying to set up a waitlist was painful and took 5 times as long because I kept getting thrown out. At least for the week or two since they rolled out the new design I had not been having that happen.

I just went into it, looks like they changed the setup to match the main Disney website.

This is it exactly. I am sure there was an initiative set forth to homogenize all the different Disney sites so that they at least appear cohesive. Now it would be nice if they could somehow let you manage and consolidate all of your various disney accounts.

I started this thread and I still maintain that the DVC site is a piece of CRAP. It takes about 30 seconds to 1 minute or 5 minutes for the page to change (if it changes at all). I keep getting error ed out. How the heck can we book or do anything with this joke of a site. I think the flash screens on first page with the bungalows and AK and whatever are slowing down the site. It seems like that is all I get to see.

I have been on the site this evening and I am finding the navigation to be easier than the old site. I really like the new my membership section and was able to book our spring trip without instance. Site did seem a little sluggish but it might be my connection since it is storming outside.

I find that after logging in all I can see is the flash screens with the bungalows etc. If I try to go to any other page it just keeps going back to the flash screens. Oh, wait. If I hit the "Explore Membership" tab, no problem, right there. LOL.
I did figure out a way around it though. Lets say I want to check my waitlists. I click on the waitlist link under the "My DVC Membership" tab, wait 2 seconds and click it again and that works....most of the time. Once I get in to a page I have no problems with the site. Also, every now and then when logging in I get the "Verify your account" screen, even though I have done that twice. To get around that, I open another tab with the DVC site, which then shows that I have logged on, shut down the other tab, and I'm golden, except for the flash screen fiasco. I'm hoping this is just a bug thing and it will eventually right itself. Hoping........not betting on it.

I called Monday to change names on a ressie and asked the CM to tell me where the DMExpress page was so I could book. He said he has been trying to find it also. He keeps a list of what he can't find so he can ask about it. Does anybody know where it is. What a joke site.

If you hover over 'Plan Vacations', DME is currently one of the 'Featured' links. It can also be found if you select 'Pre-Arrival Checklist' under 'Plan Vacations'.

However - it's not "live". Still just takes you to a "Request Form". A properly integrated system would SHOW existing MDE reservations, and allow you to edit information. Sadly, just "web lipstick" on a pig
:(. Now, this isn't a DVC website problem - it's a DISNEY website problem - one of the very obvious failures to present totally different computer systems as a "seamless" experience.

OP back, am I going blind or did they change the backup color on the my vacation page. A dark blue background with black or purple print. I can't even read some of it without a magnifying glass. Where do they get this stuff from.
