Our neighbor left 2 weeks ago on vacation to florida in their new motorhome.
This was new to them, they never owned one before. To help in the driving his wife agreed to learn how to drive.

While cleaning up in the front yard I was shocked see both of them get out of an ambulance today, he on crutches and her with a broken arm. I rushed over to help and find out what happened.

He said it was the second day when the wife lost control and the motorhome hit a tree. He was getting tired a let her drive for the first time while he took a nap. She was scared at first but after assuring her when she got up to speed and set the cruise control the motorhome will practically drive itself. After a half hour driving she got hungry and got up to make herself a sandwich.

Sounds like one of those stupid of the year awards. The guy put the RV on cruise control and made himself a cup of coffee...sued Winnebago and won that is why their manuals now have to state that you must still drive the vehicle even in cruise control

But something like this did actually happen some years back when a mother got up from the driver's seat in her van to tend to one of her children. Luckily the vehicle drifted to the side of the road and did not turn over.

Heard this one before except it was a man on a cross country trip in his brand new motorhome with cruise control. He got up to grab a drink and a bite to eat because the saleman assured him that with cruise control it completely drove itself
