If you are looking for a fun and different way to celebrate Halloween you might want to try this. We had a BLAST with it so did all our guests. This is our third year doing this and we even have folks CALLING us starting in September asking "Are you going to do it again? Can we please come?" We worked hard coming up with this and everybody seems to love it.
We have a menu of 25 (26 if no kids are going to be there) items that our guests have to pick from. I wrote the items on a piece of black poster board with different colored gel pens that show up on black paper. The guests were each given 3 sheets of post-it notes. They each wrote their name on each piece. Once they were seated I came into the dining room and said..."Welcome to the Dangerous DIEner. We are about to present our full course menu to you. You are to pick five items and write the numbers of the items on your paper and give it to your server. You will get EXACTLY what you order. NOTHING less, and NOTHING more! You must eat all of your food items ar find somebody to help youwith them. No saving items for the next round."
We then presented out great menu:
1. Grave Digger
2. Witch's Brew (made fresh by our Witch)
3. Moth Wings
4. Medusa Style
5. Blood Drops
6. Cob Webs
7. Rat Tails
8. Devil's Tail
9. Mummy Wrap
10. Boo #2
11. Bat Bones
12. Boo covering
13. Witch's Hat
14. Earthworms
15. Stake
16. Slime
17. Bed Bugs
18.Frankenstein's Fav.
19. Broom Sticks
20.Bed 4 the Dead
21. Eye Balls
22. Ghost's Fav.
23. Chicken Toenails
24. Dracula's Fear
25. Pond Scum
26. Hell's Desire (we use this one if no kids will be there)
It is VERY important that the guests not be able to see the kitchen area. We hand sheets to cover the doorways. We have all the same items set up in the kitchen and numbered so when we get the list we can quickly walk around and fill the order. Remember they ONLY get what they order...the only unordered things given are a plate and if needed a cup. We use disposable utensils, cups, and plates. Here are the actual items:
1. Spoon
2. Chilli
3. Plain potato chips
4. Shredded cheese
5. Red hots
6. Triscut crackers
7. Black Licorice
8. Fork
9. Butter Noodles
10. Minature white marshmellows
11. Shoe string potatos
12. White Napkin
13. Oreo cookie with a hersey kiss 'glued' on with a lil black icing
14. Cheese curls
15. Toothpick
16. Soda
17. Crackers
18. Hot Dog
19. Small petzel sticks
20. Hot dog bun
21. Olives
22. Blue (BOO) Berry Jello Cake
23. Candy Corn
24. Garlic Herb dip
25. Soda
26. Ice water
After the three rounds of trying to figure out what the items are we let the guests come in and serve themselves fromthe kitchen. What a fun time! Have a camera handy!
