Hi...

Last year we "forgot" to visit Santa. This year we didn't want to forget, so off we went today. Now, we don't do MALL Santas... we go to a Country Store about 45 minutes away from where we live. This gentleman and his family has been hosting "Santa" for years and years... You enter through the country store of candies and goodies, into this room where there are lights all over, toys on the walls and ceilings, etc... The real deal.

Santa comes down the Chimney (really!). He has a VERY nice outfit (real thick dark read velvet) and totes a real beard and mustache. HE IS SANTA! No fake stuff. Talks to the children for a while (hence the line takes a long time). So... like Disney! you get there at least an hour early (to get the front of the line spot). Well, we arrive an hour early, but everyone *not me* decides to go to lunch first. Fine. We eat at McDonalds (blech) then get there at 11:45. (Can you say Test Track at 5pm & no FPs). There is no order. Crowds. No CM's directing you to a line! lol

We end up waiting in a crowded area for 1 hour and 15 minutes before we get to see Santa. The kids were good, but Mom wasn't! Oh Well... we are there! Great Santa... You take your own pictures.. so I snapped away!

We then go to the Aquarium for a while. Great pictures! Then home where I get the film developed!

Somehow, during the wait in line, one of the girls switched my camera from Autofocus to Manual focus (one tiny little switch). NONE of my pictures turned out... all blurry. All the Santa pics and Aquarium pics are useless.

Now, AGAIN, I have no pictures of Santa. WHY oh WHY did this happen!!! UGH... Not one of my happy days... :( :( :(

At least the kids saw Santa. Too bad they will not see the pictures!

BTW, today was the last chance to see Santa. :(

Thanks,
Just venting...
Karen

Karen, I am so sorry to hear about your pictures :( That is such a bummer when something like that does happen. At least you got to see a cool Santa do his magic :) I hope tomorrow is a better day for you {hugs}

A few years from now, Karen, next year even, you will look back and smile, a fun memory of the kids growing up. The main thing is they saw Santa, and they were happy.

Merry Christmas!!!! :sunny:

This summer while on a n important Bot Scout outing, my camera got switched to "panorama". Ug. Like you said, one tiny switch. But, the pics turned out clear as a bell, just stupid looking. So sorry about yours. Hate all thoes tiny buttons. Can't switch them when we need to, jsut when we don't want them!!

Since you don't have good pictures, put a blurry one on a page with journaling telling your story about the whole day, that way you will still be able to save the memories of such a great day! You could even print off a copy of the post you made here and add it to your page with the blurry picture.....can you tell Im a scrapbooker?

Thanks for the idea Snow White! They are really bad, though. AND I have this thing with my scrapbooking... I can't put a bad picture in... I am way to anal. I even have a hard time tilting pictures lol! I am also not sure I really want to relive that day over and over, if you know what I mean!

I am one to scrap weird things, though. It took ALOT of restraint on my part not to snap pictures while my 6 year old son was in First Aid at Animal Kingdom with a concussion (from swinging on the shower ropes near the bar  )... My dh would have killed me!! But, I did save the "I visited First Aid today" sticker they give you (but it would have looked nicer with a picture next to it! lol). I also have a picture of him laying on the couch on Halloween night with Scarlet Fever. Hmmmm... don't exactly know how to scrap that one, since he spent the Holiday sick... Only one picture. 12 x 12 page...

Well, boy, did I ramble.

Happy Holidays,
Karen

P.S. IF ANYONE READS THIS, please respond so I don't kill another thread. I've been doing that lately. please????????

Karen, could you put a funny twist on the story that would make a blurry picture funny for all to see? I've done similar things with web pages and pictures before :)

see, you didn't kill this thread ;)

Sorry your day didn't go as you hoped, but it will be something to talk about in years to come. :)
