What a CM told me - is this true?

Alot of it ends up in the big composting are over on Bear Island Rd.

Ok, I get the liability issue with donating buffet food, and this may be OT, but is anyone else bothered by the descriptions of what it takes to make the various gingerbread houses, carousels, etc around Disney property? At this time of year, reading about how many eggs, how much flour and sugar, etc went into the decorations at the resorts really bums me out. And with Florida being on the Gulf Coast, it seems more than a little insensitive. Would we really care if the carousel at the Beach Club was made of fake gingerbread? Lots of stuff at Disney is...I have been looking at the same unhatched ostrich eggs on the Kilimanjaro Safari for years...

I think the server may have been pulling your leg on the Animal Kingdom story.

The animals at the DAK are treated like royalty, and I just cant see Disney taking the chance feeding them "leftovers" from the restaurants.

Quite frankly, some of the food prep areas for the animals at DAK are cleaner than some of the kitchens in the restaurants.

Some of the food does go to a hog farm, but I'm pretty sure none of it goes to DAK.

but I think I'll get my mom to look into it more. I hate to think the waiter just outright lied to me to make me feel better. We ended up taking the food anyhow!
