I called the dining line this afternoon to do a Crystal Palace reservation since I did not get Cindy's for two days in a row. I asked the CM if the princess bkfst at Norway was as hard to get into ahd she said well yes at that time of year. I said well I thought the first two weeks of December were your slowest time of the year? She said Oh no Thanksgiving to Xmas is THE BUSIEST??? WHAT THE HECK? HAS IT CHANGED SINCE MY LAST TRIP OR IS SHE NUTS? Need opinions!

Thaksgiving to Christmas has always been our busiest time of year. Nothing has changed.

Is your trip the first two weeks of January? I have been there January 1st - 5th, and it was VERY busy the 1st and 2nd, less on the 3rd, and less on the 4th and 5th.

I also stayed the second weekend a few years ago and it was PERFECT! Walk on everything.

Hope this helps!

Assuming you were calling 90 days out for Cindy's, you must be going the first 2 weeks of December..................awesome time to go. We have been in WDW the first 2 weeks of December several times, the crowds are very manageable. Mickey's Christmas party is great, MK all decked out for the holidays! Weather can be cool, but that's why there is pool heat! You have picked one of the best times of the year to go, be confident in your choice, and have a great time!

Yes it is the Dec 8 thru 13th. I thought it was weird she said it is BUSY from Thanksgiving thru Xmas because in my unofficial guide it says the first two weeks in Dec are the slowest time of the year. Now this Samirella person is saying the same thing?

Those are the exact dates we were there last year. It was not the busiest time we have been there at all, but more crowded than I had thought. We bought tickets to 2 nights of MVMCP and those were the only times we went to MK. We got to do and see everything, some a couple of times. It was just so pleasant not being in the hot sun.

We're going 12/4 - 12/11, we were there at the same time a few years ago and it was awesome! The only ride we waited in line for was Dumbo. Although, ds was too small to go on any major thrill rides. It was still perfect! Don't sweat it!!

Things definitely must be changing. I have been to WDW pretty much every time of year, except Christmas to New Years (doing that this year :) ), and the 1st couple weeks in Dec. have always been the least crowded, in our experience. On a side note, WDW used to really limit the number of tickets sold for MVMCP, which was great. The last time we were, it was obvious that they had raised the cap. substiantially. I guess all the special events have really taken, and people have realized that Thanksgiving to NYE is the best time of year to see the hotels and parks, and as many as possible are trying to avoid the crowds, after Christmas. Just a thought.

Honestly I trust my unofficial guide. I think these cast member are confused. Everyone I have talked to said the first two weeks of December are great to go. I know Thanksgiving and actual Xmas are extremely busy and would never go that time. If it was becoming sooo busy at that time they would not still ofer it at VAlue Season prices.

I've gone the first or second week of December the past 6 years and it wasn't busy. I thought Christmas to New Years was the busiest time.

When I was deciding when to go next year I sent an e-mail via the disneyworld website and specifically asked about early december (we own some restaurants and right after Thanksgiving until Christmas are sure slow for us!) and the representative wrote back and told me that early December is great because "you get the holiday decorations and special events and all of the other magic of the holidays before the crowds arrive" so I booked my trip for early December 2005. I hope I "chose wisely". Anyway just my two cents!

????? most of our trips have been early in dec and it's been empty did you mean Thanks &&& Chrst.? rather than than through?

I'm here to tell ya -- the week after Thanksgiving until the full week before Christmas is some of the best weeks to go to Disney World. There are always "crowds" at the parks, but during this time, since most families with children go to the parks during the time school is out, these few weeks don't work with the vast majorities of people in the U.S.

All the guides will say the same thing -- this period is fantastic for visiting the parks. This is my favorite time to visit the parks. You'll LOVE it!

For us and we have been first part of December each year since 1992.::yes:: :wave2:

This Samirella person is a cast member. Yes, the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is our busiest peak season. It has always been that way and the cm you spoke to is not nuts. The parks are on peak hours. One or two weeks might be slower than the rest but overall it is the busiest. I simply answered what you were questioning below as you did not question specific dates.

Then why are the resorts charging value season rates between 10/31 and 12/19?

The park hours are certainly not peak hours the first 2 weeks of December.

Yes, around Thanksgiving and around Christmas are busy times but not the time in between.

While the weeks between Thanksgiving and mid-December are busy for DVC members / resorts, the rest of the resorts are at value rates. Some of our favorite trips have been during this time of year. CM's can say what they'd like, averaging the whole month of December, I guess. But early December is a great time to go. The closer you get to Christmas, the busier it becomes.

We have been to WDW during the first two weeks of December for 5 years in arow and it is always very managable. About the only time it gets really busy is on the weekends. Christmas time at WDW is great.

As you can see, I don't work in the resorts, therefore, I don't know anything about that. I do know that we are on extended hours and very busy during the time period in question.
