LOL to the original thread. I'm sure there was a ton of rejoicing when the Yankees lost. Believe it or not, most people are thrilled when the Yankees and the Red Sox are not in the World Series............though I'm sure every game they play vs each other next year will be televised on ESPN.

A. Lee could very well stay a Ranger. His wife likes being close to their home state of Arkansas, and the Rangers will make him a very nice deal.

B. Even if he goes, we have lots of other quality players.

C. We didn't just beat the Yankees - we demolished them. Don't be bitter.

Personally couldn't be happier and I'm really excited about watching the Giants too. I love watching Tim Lincecum and Brian Wilson pitch. I'm rooting for My Rangers all the way, but excited about watching the Giants pitchers.

I am I am a 4th generation Yankee fan. I remember watching the games with my great grandfather. So of course I'm bummed.

i remember faking sick in 7th grade to listen to opening day game on the radio when cbs owned the yankees. this was back in 1966.

it was great.

no team invokes such press as the new york yankees. is supect ratings on fox will take a big hit.

Good for them. Their MO has worked well for them the past decade. People are sick of them. Try to understand this: They are a large reason why people don't care about baseball anymore.

think about it this way...
You live in KC, Pittsburgh or Milwaukee. 9 times out of 10, your team cannot compete because you cannot, not won't, CANNOT out spend the Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies or Mets. You are are fortunate enough to have a difference maker on your roster you nurtured throughout the farm system. He's going to leave for a bigger payday elsewhere. As a fan, where's the incentive to go to games? To care?

Until MLB puts a hard and fast salary cap in place, fans will continue to abandon the game for the NFL (america's real past time now).

I can't believe it. no yankee fans. I would think fox sports can't be happy. the giants and rangers can't be exctiing...it's like watching the buffalo bills play football. no jeter, a-rod or cc sabithia . well at least cliff lee will be a yankee next year.

I wouldn't say I loathe them, that takes too much work, but I will say that I don't like them, even tho one of my favorite A's went to the Yankees.

this is how I see it, it's easy to be a Lakers, Yankees, Cowboys fan. Why? Because they win a lot.....it's easy to be a fan when "your team" wins all the time, it's not as easy to be a fan when your team loses season after season after season...LOL And yes I know what I'm talking about, I'm a Raider fan.

I doubt the ratings are taking any kind of hits, except maybe positive ones. I find it hard to believe that no team invokes the press like the Yuk, I mean Yankees. I do think it's pretty neat that you listened to the opening day game on the radio in '66, that is pretty cool.
