What a blast

Full trip reporting coming soon, but for now I’ll say this:

as a Disney World lifer, i really enjoyed Disneyland. We went on 12/30 and 12/31 and were nervous about seeing and doing things. Having done WDW for Christmas week and NyE the past 10 years, we knew what to expect, but we’re still nervous.

quick hits:

- maxpass is 100% worth it. My anxiety kicked in the moment we got into the park, but within 2 hours we’d been on Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Alice in Wonderland, Jungle Cruise, Mr. Toad,and Haunted Mansion; then stacked RSR, Incredicoaster and Toy Story Midway.

- we did the park hopper but didn’t NEED it. We could have gotten everything done. It was nice to go back the morning of 12/31 and casually stroll DL before heading to DCA.

- most people went to DCA on 12/30 and DL on 12/31. As a result, we never faced crazy crowds

- if the new Epcot show is anything like World of Color, WDW fans are in for a serious treat.

WDW is our home park, we have dozens of trips under our belt. Having said that, Disneyland is AWESOME! It's not that it's better than the WDW parks, it's just another great dose of magic & Mickey.

she did. After my dad passed she didn’t think she could go back to WDW but got “the bug” in DL and said she’d like to go back.

NYE was a very emotional night. she wasn’t feeling great but World of Color brought her to tears and she thoroughly enjoyed it.

I was wondering how this trip would be for her, knowing that it could be very difficult. So glad that she enjoyed WOC -- it really is a great show!

Glad you had great time. Ended up in DCA for the evening of 12/31 and had a blast as well. Crowd seemed pretty light. Got to the park at 6:30 and got everything in that we wanted including the WOC holiday edition (it’s great but the regular WOC is better.). Daughter even rode the Towmater ride 4 times in a row ( without having to get off) at 12:45 since the crowd was pretty light. Did Disneyland on 1/1 and it was busy but MaxPass got us all the rides we needed.

So glad to hear you enjoyed it even on a busy crowd time. And that your mom had a little Disney magic help her in her grief. So sorry for your loss. Losing a parent is so hard.
