I think the top three this week are getting a lot of votes from the teenagers. They aren't voting based on talent, but on looks.

Isn't that the point though. It's these teenagers that are going to be out there buying the CD's. If you listen to a lot of today's music (I sure try not to...although it's getting a bit better), is it really about talent? It's about who looks cute or sexy and image.... combe that with the electronic voice enhancing tools they have today and you have Brittany Spears on the charts.

So, it's not just American Idol that has a problem...it's the music industry.

I completely agree with WDWLVR and a few others. I really didn't care for the attitudes of both Fantasia and Jennifer. I can definitely see where some "personalities" clashed at the house! They said last night that the vote between the bottom two were the closest it has ever been so hopefully that will translate into Fantasia leaving next week.

Granted Jennifer had a good voice...I'll give her that but she wasn't the best. Fantasia just sounds like another Macy Gray to me. I'm hoping Jasmine and Latoya are the final two. I would buy either of their records.

No, I don't even really watch the American version. I'm only following it because I've met one of the contestants.

Actually, I'm not even sure you can say last AI season (American) was a success. The guy that won is being outdone by the guy that was runner up. This Clay guy is everywhere. He seems to be doing much beter than the winner?

But I'm not sure that there will be a lot of teenagers buying the CD if red haired John wins. He will be very hard to market because of his type of singing. I think he has a great voice, but he sounds a lot like Harry Connick Jr. or Frank Sinatra. I don't know too many teens that will buy that.

Hopefully LaToya or some of the other really talented singers will get a contract regardless of how this all ends. I'm sure I would buy a LaToya CD (just like I bought Clay's CD even though he didn't win) if they ever produce one.

I don't think John Stevens sounds anything like Harry Connick. I think people might buy his album for a novelty, like William Hung. As for me, now I can DIS on Tuesdays and Wednesdays because AI was the only show I was watching and now all my favorites (Matt, Amy, now Jennifer) are gone.
