I have a boy and a girl who will be 22 months when we go in June 07(SSR), a little over 18 months ajusted age. Suggestions to make our trip run smooth.
Thanks

We took our girls for the first time at that age. Bringing their stroller, as opposed to renting was a good decision. They were able to nap that way.

There's a thread here, all parents of multiples, with lots of advice and friendly folks. Here's the link. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=13958284#post13958284

Would be happy to answer any specific questions you might have. Where are you staying?

Hi, Sparky! I'm a mom of preemie twins too! My girls are 17 months actual and 14 1/2 months adjusted. We are attempting our first trip this December. Like you, I'm wondering what it is going to be like! :crazy2:

We traveled lots when our twins, boy-girl, were babies. (They're 17 now!) Looking back, my number one tip for taking them on trips would be to adjust to their schedules; don't expect them to adjust to yours. Also, when flying we always booked the aisle seat and the window seat. If anybody had that middle seat they always asked to move when they found they were between two babies. Then we had the extra seat which was so helpful. A ticket agent told me to do this and it worked every time.

I think you and your twins will have a great time. We brought 3 kids aged 4 and under and found visiting the playgrounds at each parks was a must for a reprieve from the stroller! They will probably take a while to warm up to the gigantic characters, but admire them from afar. Have fun.

Haha, that's brilliant! The person in the middle probably isn't a fan but I'm ammused!

First thanks for all of your replies. We are staying at Saratoga Springs. My wife and in-laws will fly( love the seat stuff) and my parents n i will drive from jersey but will be able to take everything we need. Our thought is to go to the parks early and get back for a nap and pool time. Then go back in at night. Should we spend most of our time at Magic Kingdom? Do you think a trip over to Sea World would be a good idea, since i am driving the mini van down. We are just looking to start our family vacation fun, thats why we bought DVC. Has been a crazy year, kids our doing great, no major problems, a long way from a pound an a half at birth. Again thanks for all your help.

Our girls were 22 mos, adjusted age 19 1/2 mos, for their first trip. We stayed at OKW and having the washer/dryer was a godsend. We took things at their pace. My girls were never early risers, still aren't, so we would just go when we were all ready, and play it by ear. There are so many great things in MGM and AK for smaller kids, that you may spend a fair amount of time in those parks as well.

As for Sea World, at that age I wouldn't go. There really isn't that much there for them to do, other than a couple of the shows, and play area. Plus, you're about a 20 - 30 minute drive back to SSR from there.

My girls were 2lbs13oz and 3lbs8oz at birth. Other than some sensory integration issues and a minor LD for one of them, the girls are great and are now 12 entering 7th grade. I will share with you the best advice I got regarding twins, and that was from my pediatrician, also the father of twins, never let them out of the stroller!

Your DVC purchase will be one you will enjoy as well. We own at BWV and OKW. We have 3 dds, so the 2 bdrm for us is great. Only bad thing is we are truly spoiled and now try to only stay in timeshares when we travel.
