Hello All,

This will be my second trip to what I refer to as DISNEY MECCA!!! I am so excited I first made it to WDW in 1990 I was 15. Now I am making the trip with my two children Justen 11 and Krystena 8, you can probably imagine how EXCITED they are as well as myself. We are from CA actually 20 minutes from Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. We frequent Disneyland often (We have AP). However, there IMO is nothing like Disney World.
I was wondering if anyone my be able to tell me how the crowds might be starting this Saturday?
Should I be scared that it will be SO CROWDED or do you think that vacation season is pretty much over being so close to the new school year? Also, how much rain should we expect? If anyone can help me with these questions I would really appreciate the info......
Thanks again,

I think you can expect things to have thinned a little, because some kids are back in school on Monday and other will go back just the following week. Plus I think hours will have shortened a bit.

As for rain, expect the kids that comes from nowhere, comes hard, and goes quickly. We buy about 3 cheapie ponchos per person at target, use them trash them and return the ones we dont use. Dont buy yellow, thats what everyone else will have on.

Gonna be there myself, same dates. I expect it to be close to what it was in March but hotter. Crowds weren't bad, MK closed at 7, rain.
I too have ORANGE ponchos from the $store, enough to just throw them away each day.
Still, I can't wait! I need this sooo bad!

P.S. look for the stroller with the lime green ribbons all over the handle and the crazy woman with Mickey Heads on her lanyard....that would be me!

Ill be there the same time too.

I posted a thread yesterday asking people that have returned this week what crowds were like vs last week. I think that with the FTP, there are still a lot of people going, but with school started in the southern states, its mainly kids from the northeast and the UK folks ( Quick shout out to my kin in London).

From what I have been told, use the EE and the FP's and we should be all right. Be sure to go the MK on the 23 or 24. BTMRR closes after the 24 for a couple of weeks for refurbishment.

Also, Festival of Lion King closes on the 25 as well.

Have a great trip. I know I will...

CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP, still waiting for that Tag Fairy and by the way....This is my 10th POST!!!!!!

Sorry, Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road.
A fun roller coaster...

Its a Fast Pass Ride

Also festiveal of the Lion King as well closes on the 25th.

We are arriving this Sunday 24th also. This is the week we always go to WDW. The crowds really thin out this week. Seems alot of kids are going or have gone back to school. Ours go back on the 2nd so we look at it as kind of a blast for the kids before school starts. Yes there are showers during the day but usually not a wash out. Yes it's hot but it's hot up here also. So I guess I'd rather be hot in Disney World than at home! Can't wait...... 3 DAYS!!!!

Have fun and Enjoy.... I know we're going to!

8/24 - 8/31 All Star Sports Here we come!!!!

Bowman,

Maybe we will be neighbors...
Im staying at All Star Sports Also.

:D

We'll be there the same time too.

This is our fourth time going this same week and each time we've experienced small crowds. That's why we ONLY go during the last week of August.

Hope to run into some of you! I'll also have my Alien Green mouse heads and lime green ribbons on anything I can tie it onto.

Have a great trip everyone!!

Aww man,
I just was out for lunch and ran to the store with my DW and forgot about the Lime Green Ribbon. Looks like another run out is needed....

;)

Us too!

We arrive Sunday for a week long (OK, 6 nights) stay at the Contemporary (thanks Shades of Green). Look for the lime green Mickey heads!

See ya there.

We'll be arriving 8/24 - 8/31/03. Reading about crowds, rains, tropical depressions is enough to put me in a depression. Just want to get there & see for myself.

Here's to a good, relatively dry week

Cheers;)

I love looking at all the countdown timers on this thread. How exciting!!!!
We went this week last year too and it wasnt crowded at all, but it did rain a lot more than we expected(more than the mid day showers everyone talks about). I figure it cant be that rainy again...hopefully! ;)
See you all there! :Pinkbounc

We are going the same time too. Weather so far looks good for next week. Keeping fingers and toes and everything else crossed. We did Disney last June 02 in the torential downpours and are used to the rain but hope it holds off next week.

We are staying offsite, first time, and are going to do Universal too, first time. I'm looking forward to going and having a GREAT time.

Going to pick up the rental van today, driving from Philly area, and getting our last minute things done. Tomorrow morning we are leaving around 5:30 a.m..

Hope everyone has a FANTASTIC MAGICAL time.
