What is the one thing that you packed that was a lifesaver? What do you wish you had packed? Going Dec 9th AKL

Aside from hat & sunscreen (duh), I always remember to pack some extra moleskin to protect against blisters -- it's amazing how a perfectly good day can be ruined if you're in pain. Funny that.... ;)

I think the #1 thing that we have always found indespensible has been to TAKE A BREAK...
....even if it's just to grab a coke :drinking1 and sit outside at a cafe spot and watch people for 30 minutes or so. It always seemed to help the mind to "calm down" and the body to relax. We'd re-hash the highlights of the day so far...and enjoy people-watching while we grabbed a snack.
....we're not the type to run here and there...we really stop and enjoy the flowers and the little things...it seems that our trips have always been full of laughter :rotfl: and great memories.
....(also, love  those moleskins...!!!)

Rain ponchos ... those cheap ones from the Dollar store. Thought I'd bring some just in case, as they didn't take up much room in my fanny pack. While at MGM one afternoon, out of the blue came a rain shower. We stepped under a covering somewhere and put on the ponchos. It was great ... our clothing stayed dry and we weren't shivering later like some people we saw
(this was first week of November).

Travel size hand warmers. When we went in Feb it was COLD and rainy. We were fine when we were moving, but when we were waiting for parades or standing in lines popping out a hand warmer and having that little bit of warmth saved the day.

My fanny pack with water bottle holder! I lived out of that fanny pack for a week! We took my mother down with us who insisted on carrying her pocketbook around the park! This was so ridiculous!!!! I had my credit cards/passes/money in the front zipper and everything else in the main compartment (including full size bottle of sunscreen; wipes; hand sanitizer; contact lense solution and everything in between). A fanny pack is a definite MUST HAVE for me!!!!!!!!!

On my last few trips - my WATER BOTTLE. I have one of the Brita Fill and Go type with a filter in it to take the metalic taste out of WDW water, but any type of water bottle that you can carry and refill can be a lifesaver in the parks, even during mild weather.

Drinking fountains are somewhat scarce in the parks these days, possibly to encourage the purchase of bottled water, so carrying your own supply with you is a big help. Not only will it keep you cooler and hydrated in the hot weather, but even when it's not so hot you'l still get thirsty once in a while in those long attraction lines, and having some clean water to rinse your hands or wipe your face with can also be very handy.

MOLESKIN!!! Never thought I would need it but packed it in case someone did. We all ended up needing it for one thing or another.

Moleskin, moleskin, moleskin. I'll go without my husband before I'll go without moleskin.

(Just kidding. Maybe. :teeth: )

Ziploc bags!
A must for wet rides.
Great for keeping stuff dry and separate from other stuff in the bags.
Good for keeping a few snacks handy and wet cloths for a quick freshen up.

It's what we didn't pack...and instead bought at Publix. For the first time, we were able to drive to WDW with the kids and NOT have to use a luggage carrier. We weren't even crowded in the car!! Typically, I buy lots of "stuff" ahead of time for the trip. Most of the snacks and such we never eat. For our last minute trip last week, I didn't have time to do this. Surprisingly, many things (including Cokes) were less expensive at Publix than at my neigborhood grocery store.

I have to second the ziplock bags. We carried the bigger ones with the slidy zipper, and when we went on water rides, I stuck my camera, autograph books, wallets etc. and nothing got wet!

Fanny packs & cheap rain ponchos!! Never go without either!!

I brought a bunch of long, long drinking straws (the kind you get at Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts for their specialty drinks) -- these enabled my DS to be able to hold a purchased bottle of water and drink out of it (1) without spilling and (2) without having the straw fall down into the bottle.

I use to do the water bottles as well .Ziplocs are a must .Just bought one of the HYDRA backpacks 2lt'of water and 2 compartments but is more narrower then a regular backpack. We'll see is 3 more days how it works out.

An ID holder than goes around your neck. This is what I used the most and was surprised how much I used it!! I put my ID in the front, room keys next, Disney Visa, MNSSHP tickets, copy of ADR ressies and any receipts that would fit. This is a must have for us!! Have a great trip!!

1. Sending a box down

2. rain ponchos - sometimes we threw them out and just got out a new one the next day we needed one.

3. rain cover for stroller

4. over the door shoe hanger....we put all our bathroom stuff in to keep counters clear.

Yes! Water shoes! As DisneyPHD has said. I thought I would be ok without them. Not true. I had to buy some at TL. They were $20.00 but they are nice. The wave pools have rough bottoms!
