I know OKW but what other resorts allow 5 to a room for the 1-Bedrooms?

I'm pretty sure all but CCV and AKV-value allow 5 when staying on points. Some, like BWV, do not have sleep surfaces for 5 occupants but you are welcome to bring your own.

17-Years in DVC and I NEVER knew this, lol. I always thought if it said 'sleeps 4', that was max amount you could put in the Room?!?!? So basically ANY 1-bed outside the couple you mentioned are good for 5-occupants?

And if things weren’t confusing enough, I believe the bring your own bed 1 br.s allowing 5 on DVC reservations only allow 4 on cash reservations.
Correct. Because cash users think if it allows 5, Disney should provide a rollaway.

Disney will NOT provide a rollaway.

Have the BYOB ones always allowed 5? Reason I ask is didnt the studios at those locations only allow 4 to start with before the pull down murphy bed in the dresser got added later? So originally was it 4 studio and 4 1br then they made both 5? Otherwise youd have a studio that allowed 5 but a 1 br that did not.

Also the wording for SSR is fun on 1br and 2br

Sleeping capacity in one-bedroom and two-bedroom accommodations at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort are subject to change, with the potential removal of the single pull-down bunk-size bed.

Yes, BWV studios and 1BR originally allowed only 4. Then they added the single Murphy to the studios and increased the allowable to 5 for the studios - while 4 was still the limit on the 1BR. There was a bit of an outcry, but adding the single Murphy to the 1BR wasn't an option, so they started allowing 5 in the 1BR as long as guests provided their own bedding, towels, etc.

I have used them at Hilton Hotels and most recently at Hard Rock Resort for Universal Studios Florida.
They are very nice and are rolled in like a Moving Company dolly with handle on top and wheels on bottom and strapped in center and crisp sheets ! Fit very nicely in standard room at Hard Rock and I remeber moving something to create a small bedside table to put cellphone and bottle water & next to window .

Seems really rude to accommodate5 guests but nothing provided … Do not call that Deluxe Disney . They might have a word that is dumb for their guests , tho…
Survey said this is what their guests prefer.

I don’t remember DVC “proudly announcing” a capacity of 5 in the BWV 1BR. It seemed more like they “gave in and allowed” DVC guests to have 5 in the 1BR after members complained that it was ridiculous to limit the 1BR to 4 when the studios slept 5. I see they don’t allow their cash guests to have 5 in a 1BR, so I’m not sure whether to feel special or not.

Yeah, that is what threw me on the description. Studio's were listed as 5-Max Occupancy--but 1-Beds were listed as 4-Occupancy!?!? I like to 'think' I know a lot about Disney/DVC--but this is literally the first time I've heard of the BYOB bed, lol

I think it’s more Disney throwing a bone to those members who don’t mind their room looking like a youth hostel in Azerbaijan.

“Hey, there’s 3 square feet of unused floor space over there. I can bring my sleeping bag and camp pad and get an extra bed for the triplets!”

That comes across as some real snobbery! Given that so many people are happy to sleep 4 people to a hotel room I really don't see adding one person in a 1 bedroom as much of a squeeze. As a child I was perfectly happy with our family of 4 staying in small tent. Staying in a 1 bedroom at Disney with 5 of us would have been a dream! Never been to Azerbaijan so I can't comment on that, but I also have nothing against staying in a youth hostel. :)

Only if you actually believe I was being serious. I thought the Azerbaijan reference lifted the farce level sufficiently...

I will say though, if you said those exact same rooms sleep 5, someone will complain that they could fit 6. There are building code occupant loads and occupancy limits for very real reasons.

Imagine a fire alarm going off in the middle of the night, and having to navigate around and over rollaway beds, air mattresses, or whatever else is occupying the floor space in the designed egress path within the room (and that wasn't there when you were moving about the room during the day). Now do it disoriented (you're not in your own bedroom at home), in a panic, with strobe lights flashing, children screaming, and without contacts/glasses and in your underwear.

The 4 vs 5 goes way back. It started when DVC salesmen would say it says 4 for a 1 bedroom but you can bring an extra person if you want. There’s probably a thread somewhere we’re people debated the legitimacy of a verbal statement vs what is in the contract. DVC finally added the wording to the website that it was allowed.
