I just recently started using Uber, so now I’m all about my score. It’s 4.82 right now and I have no idea how that stacks up.

I’m honestly surprised it’s not 5.0 because I’m always a good tipper. Maybe 20% isn’t enough? Most of my rides were in Toronto so maybe that’s considered cheap, and not enough.

So, fess up.. what’s your score?

I didn’t even know I had a score til this post. I’m a 5. I’ve only used it in Vegas and I’m probably fairly tame compared to many fares there, and I always tip well.

4.79 - Though I don't actually use Uber all that much except for food deliveries. I mostly use Lyft for rides and over on that app, I have a 5.0

4.96. We had an issue in NYC and accidentally ordered two cars a while back. I had to cancel one and it affected my score. Drivers can ding you for minor "offenses"...talking too much or too little etc. Anything over 4.7 is considered good to excellent.

I'm currently at a 4.93. I probably got dinged in Miami when I ordered a ride to the airport and wrote in the comment section "Standing in front of the Hampton Inn sign on xxx street." I waited for a long time and she finally called and asked where I was. I said, "I'm in front of the sign that says Hampton Inn." She said, "Oh I thought you said Hilton Inn. I'll be there in a minute." Now not only did I specify Hampton Inn, but the address I entered was for the Hampton Inn! She had two chances to find me, but she still tried to add an extra charge for waiting longer than 5 minutes, which I disputed because it was her mistake. I'm pretty sure she gave me a rating lower than 5.

I have a feeling my ride on Friday caused me a ding, but very unfairly. We took an Uber home from my parents house around 830 PM. When I got in the door I realized I didn’t have my phone. It had fallen out of my pocket and I didn’t think to check before getting out of the car. I ran down the stairs to see if the guy was still in the parking lot, but he was gone. I went back upstairs and used my husbands phone to log in to the app. Then, I decided to call my phone to alert the guy. He answered and said he was downstairs with it. So, I got my phone back within five minutes…if that…of realizing it was gone.

I gave him a 100% tip because he came back so quickly. Then, about an hour later I got an email saying I was being charged $15 for returning a lost item. I’m fine with that, but I wish I would have known about it before I gave a $15 tip. So, for an 8 minute ride, I ended up paying around $45!! I’ll know for next time but I’d be peeved if he gave me less than 5 stars.

4.89, probably my last trip in Orlando cost me some points. I didnt tip as I didnt think she was driving safely. She was late, she picked up our request while she was still in the process of dropping of someone else (or she went shopping first), but what was worse that she was on her phone several times, trying to find a shortcut out of the traffic jams.

I have no clue. I’ve only used Uber a handful of times. I guess I could look it up.

Hopefully it’s good. I tipped well and I’m not a Karen, at least not while using Uber.

4.95. I’m sure the dip could be attributed to my son and friends when he would use my account as a teenager. Lol.

It may have been 5 minutes for you. But, he probably had to cancel his next fare he was on his way to, to return the phone to you. He may not have had a choice to cancel, since it would have made him late. He probably had to give the reason as to why he canceled.

I’ll know for next time

One thing I can guarantee you: you will never forget to check to see if you dropped your phone before shutting the car door again.

I had that happen once. Luckily, I found out right away and was able to use my co-worker's phone to call my phone, as my ringer was on. If it wasn't on, I doubt I would have ever seen my phone again. It was a cab I hailed at the curb, and no way to find out who he was after I got out. The taxi lost & found is like 20 miles away in Queens. And doubtful if a cab driver would drive out that far to turn a phone in.

I have never forgotten to check my pocket before I close the door to make sure my phone is there, and I still look back at the car seat just in case I dropped something else.

I'm at 5. I only used an Uber 3 times, for out of the way locations. (I prefer the yellow cabs as they are regulated by the city with registered medallion numbers, are forced to have better insurance in case of accidents, and better ways for the city to keep tabs on them, if I have to file a complaint.)

I am a Karen - my Mom’s choice.

I have a 5. Key is to review/rate your driver And they will rate you.

side note, i don’t know why people use my name as a negative jab. Makes me wish that my mom had named me Patricia like my dad wanted. She wasn’t having it since he had an ex named Patricia. I could have had a cute nickname like Trish or Trisha……

4.85. I use it here and there for business, to and from airports. Not sure what could've caused the ding -- there have been a couple of incidents where we were being picked up at a restaurant and they went to a different entrance. As long as they keep taking my fare, I'm not that concerned.

Used Disney's minnie van once during last trip which is through Lyft. Deleted the phone app once our trip was over. Prefer to use regular taxis instead of these online taxi services, but to each their own. Never used Uber so I had no idea they kept 'score'. What's the point of them ranking customers?

I really have no idea how Karen became the nickname for difficult/entitled women.

I have two cousins named Karen, one on each side of my family. They occasionally take some good natured ribbing from others.

The Karen on my father’s side is my closest friend. We were each others’ Maid/Matrons of Honor. She twice for me.

Yeah, when I get aggravated/frustrated with her I say “OK, Karen” in a certain tone.

I’ve never rated a driver on the half dozen or so times I’ve used Uber. Maybe I don’t have a rating or maybe it’s zero. I’m not a fan of that rating stuff. Just pick me up and drive me safely to my destination. You’ll get a good tip.
