What’s up with Mondays?

It's not just locals that take a three day weekend in the parks. I know of lots of families that fly or drive in to do the same thing.

I went on a Monday in July 2018 (it's on one of the PP early in the thread), and that was one of the heaviest crowd days I have seen. And I go on Saturdays usually.

A couple years ago we went on a Monday at the end of January thinking it would be a slow day. It was crazy busy!!! Worse than when we’ve been on Saturdays during the Halloween season! This spring we’re going on a W and Th and hoping it won’t be too bad.

Ugh my daughter’s birthday is on a Monday and we are doing a three day weekend. Initially I was going to do Monday and Tuesday, but there is some convention in town that week and hotel rates are really high starting Monday. So we are doing Saturday, Sunday and Monday. However, we are experienced Disneylanders and rope droppers and we’ve gotten really good at Maxpass, so hopefully we can get a lot done. I think it’s just going to be nuts because of ROTR.

You should be fine. I think it's hard on people who don't come to the parks as often and are thrown off at the Monday crowds. You know how to use maxpass, the app, where to find things, what to avoid, etc.

We’ll be visiting on a Sunday and Monday as those are the only 2 days during our time frame that there isn’t a grad night going on while we’re there. Ah well, it’s our first visit so it will still be wonderful! We’ve been to WDW the week before Christmas, on spring break, and early summer, so hopefully it can’t be much worse than those, lol.

I think it's really hard on people who visit on Monday expecting a ghost town or very low crowd day. They come in with that mentality and get hit with Monday crowds -- it can be a hard transition for those who aren't expecting it and aren't used to the parks/don't have any DLR skillz.

Oh man! I've never gone on President's day. I've gone on MLK day and Labor day and those both weren't bad at all.

Did Lincoln’s B-Day Monday in February 2018, it was much worse than the prior Friday - Sunday (DLR capacity closure, 20 minute line to enter DCA).

Interesting, we'll be there that weekend (Friday night to Monday evening) this year and were hoping that the fact that both Friday and Monday were "good to go" days on FlexPass meant we could expect lighter crowds all weekend. I guess we'll be prepared for Monday crowds.

It was actually Lincoln’s birthday, Monday Feb 12., not President’s Day. Apparently some of the schools in Southern California take that day off.

Monday Feb 17 is a school holiday for my kids.

Also, Monday Feb 3 is a teacher workday here, so kids are out that day as well.

Jan 20 and 21 are both non school holidays as well this year.

So, plan accordingly!

Yes, our district calls them "teacher/student holidays" but I refer to them as "non school" because it means the school is closed that day (vs a teacher workday, for instance).

Our district calls Jan 20 "Holiday" and Jan 21 "Teacher/Student Holiday." That's how it's worded on the district calendar.
