What is a grandma pie?

I’m glad you didn’t have any damage. I’m happy I live in a state where they are illegal, it really cuts down in the backyard fireworks.

They’re illegal here too! But people are jerks. And there are just too many people setting them off for the police to handle it.

Just placed an order from Portillo's for DD to pick up tonight.
A family friend is in town and that was her request.
Italian sandwich, hot dog, couple chicken sandwiches, chicken strips, couple burgers, Caesar salad.
8 people.....took me forever to order.....so many changes both subtracting things and adding things.
And of course I got to pay !!

Hubby is thawing out some filets. I’m done with beef for awhile, so I’ll throw some chicken on the grill. Got some fresh farmstand green beans. There is a local Taiwanese place that makes the best garlic sautéed beans, so I’m going to try duplicating them!

Last night was rotini and meatballs for me, and meatball subs for DH. We are leaving for Disney tomorrow so I didn’t do groceries this week.
Tonight my sister is cooking or getting take out and we’re eating at my parents to discuss meeting with the lawyer today. (Estate and will )

Tonight I’m making tortellini with Alfredo sauce and salad. We are supposed to get thunderstorms so I didn’t want to grill tonight and with all the running around I didn’t really grocery shop so eating from the pantry/freezer.

Slow cooked ribs in the crockpot then put them under broiler for a few minutes. With Caesar salad and baked potatoes.

We shared shrimp spring wraps. DH ordered a sushi roll. I got a tuna poke bowl w/ a greens base. I was thrilled to finally find a fish dish without rice.

Busy with an early occupational therapy appt today. Feels good to get that over and done with in the day but don’t like when it knocks heads with the day’s other activities. Missed the farmers’ market today but of course there is always next week. Thinking they probably didn’t have the tomato explosion yet but oh yum, the peaches.

Scrounged about the chest freezer today and pulled out some chicky-pork stock to make a pot of sweet and sour soup. Had to listen to DGD “lecture me” on soup not being a “normal” dish to make in the summer but since we finished the convo with a question of whether any will be left for her Thursday arrival, guess it’s okay just this once .
Also took some veal and chicken cutlets out to defrost. Not sure what I’ll do with them (veal Marsala, Asian stir fry?) but they are fast cooking cuts so that’s all that matters.

Ate the last of the peaches with some burrata for dessert.

Dinner last night was not the best. The visiting person was an hour late....we ate without her. Portillo's, didn't follow the directions on 3 of the meals. Not my favorite experience.
