*We are a bit subdued. We sold a spec house we built in the Kerrville, TX area last year and are keeping that wonderful community close in our thoughts.*

the first seafood shack of the season lived up to all the hype! The weather was fantastic, we had a nice breeze.



We ate all the things. Lobster bisque, clam chowder, steamers, lobster roll, and scallops.









On the way home we bought a sectional for our newly remodeled space!

We ordered in tonight. A grandma pie, a pepperoni pie, garlic knots and a chicken roll. After the long drive home yesterday and laundry all day today, I didn’t feel like cooking. Plus, we unfortunately, had to clean up a big fireworks mess in our front and back yards and on the cars, curtesy of our neighbors. All of the cars had to be washed to remove the amount of fireworks residue. We live in a residential neighborhood and are VERY close to all of our neighbors. It’s not the area to be setting off those kinds of fireworks. Every year, I worry about our house catching on fire.

The man and I used to trawl Rt 9A and such looking for shacks off the beaten track; good times!

Had another cup of cream of zuchinni soup tonight and have an idea to change it around depending on what’s available at the farmers’ market tomorrow: tomato water to drizzle atop the soup? Thinking it would be reminiscent of ratatouille which I’d also like to start making. Let’s hope for the best.

Made a Vietnamese marinade flank steak and served it with a cuke, radish and julienned carrot salad. A nice main course after the soup.
Finally, had a peach for dessert.

I thought it was odd it didn’t make the list. We are going the first weekend of August. It’s such a fun place. We are already planning our sides and desserts.

I had today off so more running errands. I found an area rug for the new space and furniture is being delivered Saturday.

Tonight we had chicken tacos with a Mexican corn salad (bagged)

I used up some of my farmers market haul and made blueberry muffins. I still have a pint left so I might try blueberry ice cream. My mom also met the Peach truck today so she dropped a bunch off, I need a plan.

DH had loaded fries. I had garden salad. We shared Bourbon Street Blackened Shrimp w/ dirty rice & mango salsa. Probably not the healthiest dish. I really need to figure out how to eat healthy on the road.

They’re illegal here too! But people are jerks. And there are just too many people setting them off for the police to handle it.
