Dh grilled ham steaks and picked up some potato salad and yellow rice from the deli and made corn.
I’m struggling with this too.I've really been missing pasta. Since we're hitting the road again & restaurants don't seem to offer whole grain pasta, I searched for a low calorie/ heart healthy pasta recipe. I came up with one that has whole grain penne pasta, chicken breast, parmesan cheese, light cream, spinach, sundried tomatoes & Dijon mustard. It's probably not the best choice, but I can only go so long without pasta.![]()
Yeah, eliminating carbs completely would be very difficult for me. I was having heart problems, so I put myself on a heart healthy diet. Everything I've read, says whole grains in moderation are okay for that.I’m struggling with this too.But I don’t think whole grain matters if you’re trying to cut down on carbs.
Thanks for the tip. I'll look for those, when I get another chance to cook.We use edamame noodles......not the same taste, but texture is good
I feel your pain! There’s tons of dry pasta in my pantry and I’m trying not to think of them even though I went to sleep dreaming of making a tuna shell salad, lol. Maybe problem solved though. Next weekend some of us are having an early Independence Day cookout so a pasta salad could be a of contribution.I've really been missing pasta. Rain here again too.We went to Chilis last night. I had their Southwest Salad and a strawberry patrón margarita and dh opted for the steak, mashed potatoes and broccoli. Not sure about tonight. It’s raining here…again. I believe it’s the eighth weekend of rain.I might make a tomato tortellini soup that I’ve been wanting to try and paninis for dinner.
Great to see another broccoli stem lover! I think they're the best part-slice them up,toss in oil and S and P and roast until golden. The flavor is wonderful.Kills me to see people tossing out the stems.Decision made. Doused the tilefish with an herb and citrus oil mixture and roasted it in a sheet pan. Cooked some tomatoes and broccoli stems on the other end of the pan and dinner was ready in about 30 minutes.
Also bought some strawberries today since they are on sale again and made a strawberry fool for dessert.
