Felt like junk food so I baked some chocolate chunk cookies and made french bread pizza for dinner.
Feel better! I always lose my tastebuds with covid, too. Nausea as well.DD and SIL went to their concert last night. She's been fever-free for 24 hours and could return to work this morning, so she put on 2 masks and they went (sitting outside, on the lawn, away from others), so they had a smash burger at a food truck. I feel awful (I have covid) so DH picked up some tonkotsu ramen and some salt-n-pepper calamari, hoping to tempt me, but all I could taste was SALT in both. I guess he ate that. I have no idea what's on tonight's menu, and probably won't be eating anyway.
I don’t eat red meat and have tried them. The texture is softer than a Turkey burger and did not hold up well on my grill but was fine on my griddle/fry pan. I found it to be dry so I would look for ground dark meat if it’s an option. I can only find it with white meat by me.Has anyone tried chicken burgers? Thinking of trying them. I hate turkey burgers.
I have had them and I like them but I feel like you always have to add moisture and flavor. So I do add eggs, breadcrumbs, herbs etc. If you find turkey burgers not to your liking I feel like chicken burgers are sort of similar. I will say, if falling apart while cooking is an issue, I have baked both turkey and chicken burgers on a sheet pan in the oven before with success.Has anyone tried chicken burgers? Thinking of trying them. I hate turkey burgers.
So sorry! I hope you feel better soon. Covid is the worst.DD and SIL went to their concert last night. Yum!!Today is Cobb Salad
I'm not super fond of turkey burgers. Since we've cut back on meat I change it up with salmon burgers, shrimp burgers and portobello burgers. Most of the time I only eat the burger itself because I just haven't been enjoying the buns -- or I use lettuce as a bun.Has anyone tried chicken burgers? Thinking of trying them. I hate turkey burgers.
Feel better. Sounds like absolutely no fun.DD and SIL went to their concert last night. Lastly, Costco sells a frozen chicken burger that’s actually really good. My daughter doesn’t eat red meat, so we bought them for her on the days we had something she didn’t want. But one day in a pinch for dinner, I made them for everyone and they were very very good. I’ll see if I can find the brand.
ETA. I found the brand. It’s Amylu. It’s a caramelized onion chicken burger and it looks like they sell them in other locations besides Costco in case you are interested in trying them.
Sounds like a lovely visit! Those are some serious Chatty Cathys!
Change of bedtime for me as we caught up. We speak frequently via WhatsUp, etc but there’s nothing like having your loved ones in your face.
A lot of “welled” up desires; been given my marching orders as to what they want: everyone wants Caribbean food as it’s difficult to get in most of Europe besides the UK. A request for any region of Spanish/Latino cookery. The boy-man eats fish now! I’m so proud of him and handing back his West Indian roots card. DGD still has no affinity for cheese and if several months in France doesn’t bring it on, it’s a lost cause and I admit defeat.
So anyway we’re going to the Met this afternoon for the soon to be closing Harlem Renaissance exhibition and probably eating out.
