What’s for Dinner Tonight?

You all are going to be so jealous of our dinner last night. On the way from one destination to another, DH named off a few cities on our route & asked me to look for dueling pianos. We had a couple choices & decided on an overnight stop in Savannah, GA. Since this was a last minute, spur of the moment decision, we decided to just grab something to eat at the venue. Let me tell you. It was as awesome as you'd imagine a meal at a dueling pianos club would be. We shared fried pickles with some type of mustardy sauce & a grilled cheese made out of a slice of American cheese in a soggy hamburger bun w/ a slice of (couldn't really tell it was there) bacon. You're jealous aren't you? I knew it!


We're back in DH's hometown for the night, which means we're sharing chicken tenders, gravy, mashed potatoes, fried okra & a biscuit from his favorite restaurant.

We had blackened shrimp on salads. Very tasty and super quick.

Back in our house for the weekend. We moved into our second airbnb rental and it was dirty! Like disgustingly dirty and it was not cheap. We moved back into our house because construction dust is better than other people’s filth.

Been fighting airbnb and the host all day for a refund. I cleaned my house as much as possible and then I made a big pot of Arroz con Pollo for dinner.

Been fighting airbnb and the host all day for a refund. I cleaned my house as much as possible and then I made a big pot of Arroz con Pollo for dinner.

This was our first encounter with one. When had just spent a week at another Airbnb that was spotless. I think I’m swearing off Airbnb’s now after this.

Casa Garcia’s for din-din tonight…
Chips and salsa, and my entree’ is chicken flautas with refried beans, rice, guacamole, sour cream and lettuce and diced tomatoes…!!!!!

Tonight will be a new to us, meatloaf......it has mashed potatoes and mixed veggies on top and then cheese

That sounds very similar to shepherds pie…???!!!!!

So far, all the ones we’ve stayed in have been perfectly fine, but we’ve definitely heard stories otherwise.

I went to a Jack and Jill yesterday. I had a piece of pizza there and brought a cupcake home that I had later.

Today I’m headed to a bbq potluck. I’m making a cheese platter, pesto pasta salad, and I’m taking the leftovers Christmas cookies in my freezer. There was cheering about the Christmas cookies

Last night it was a spinach and Gruyère cheese omelette with tomatoes on the side.
Tonight, gotta eat up the rest of those defrosted burgers. Want to move past the garden variety but will need to check in the fridge and see what would make tasty add-ons. It’s early so I’ve time to figure it out

Correction: Discovered there was a pop up Vegan street fair down the street from me. Bought a “chicken” gyro home with me and added cukes, tomatoes, roasted red peppers and more romaine lettuce to it. Nice change of pace!
The burger patty will hold until tomorrow.

It’s a bridal shower but they allow men. It was held at the Elks club in town so a room that they decorated and had the event catered.

Chicken piccatta tonight. We are doing pigs in a blanket and ice cream sundaes in thee afternoon when watching the hockey game. Tomorrow is cool and rainy so will make short ribs in red wine.
