What’s for Dinner Tonight?

I'm always happy to see other people eating different meals for dinner so we aren't total weirdos LOL. I've explained before that I have a lot of food aversions and am extremely picky. I don't want to limit DH to my very boring diet because of my food stuff. What's funny is that I don't mind cooking lots of things that I won't eat. So we end up eating different dinners a lot of time even though we always eat dinner together and I cook most of the time.
It’s not just you! We often eat different proteins. I haven’t had red meat since I was 15 and don’t eat much pork, or anything in a casing lol. I was a vegetarian for 10 years. I feel bad he doesn’t get a lot of meat so things like grilling make it easy to have different options. I wish I didn’t mind cooking different options but I’m feeling burnt out from cooking lately.
 

Tonight I served Bolognese sauce with cavatelli (double macaroni) and peas for DGD; one of her fav dishes.

Made a green salad for a side and a dish of vanilla ice cream with slices of fresh peaches and plums topped with a thinned French style caramel sauce.
 
Son is off to California to see some of his cousins, particularly elder sis’s youngest and DGD’s on “Noonie Patrol” until Friday when she’ll join him.

So dinner is just me and she with the accent on what she wants. Great sale on sweet Italian sausages so today I’m making a quick tomato sauce that will help me prepare sausage ragu and braised sausages.
Most is destined for the freezer but I’ll give her some of the braised sausages on a bed of mashed potatoes with broccoli rabe.
 
My new stove was just installed and I already have a pot of Frilojes a la Charra simmering. I’ll make Arroz con Pollo later and some homemade flour tortillas and the stove will be fully christened with the flavors of my family.
Diving right in there and way to go! Homemade tortillas have me in awe 😎
 
I’m making chicken parm with pasta for dinner. Not something I normally make in the summer but I’m trying to get out of my cooking rut.

Just used up the 2 pints of blueberries I got at the farm stand yesterday.

I’m not quite sure why I’m cooking Fall type dishes either but guess we have to go with the feeling. I’m sure your family will be happy for your effort.😍

Looks like your muffins are finished with some sort of coarse grained sugar; lovely.
 
We had company last night so I did a bit of a fancier salmon/shrimp entree. It was delish. This is a long weekend here in Canada (Heritage Day) so with a little extra time today I made beef stroganoff (takes a couple of hours to simmer) because it's one of DH's absolute favorites. :goodvibes
