Hi

I booked a town home with this couple back in early Jan. Global Marketing Services, Inc is their mgmt company. They put the deposit on my credit card at that time and it says on the website that the remainder is due 30 days before arrival. As far as I know we have not been charged yet and we arrive on April 28. I am getting nervous. I emailed the owner last night and haven't heard anything yet. Anyone know how to get a hold of Global? Also, when should we receive directions to the home or where to check in? I haven't received anything yet. :confused3

TIA!

I know how to reach Global, but it's not Global you need to reach, it's the owners. The MCs (Global) will typically only do what the owners or guests instruct them to do, and you rented the home directly from the owners, so you would need to speak with them.

I would suggest calling the owners on the phone (you do have a phone # right?). Not all owners are as well organized as others, we send guests a reminder, but some owners might expect you to be calling or emailing them to make final payment arrangements.

Global Marketing Services, Inc
Address 16554 Cogan Crossings Blvd, Ste 103, Clermont, Fl 34711
Phone (352) 241-8727 or (888) 464-6353
Fax (352) 241-8721

Usually you would receive directions, checkin instructions, etc, once you make final payment arrangements. Since their MC is Global, I can tell you your checkin procedure will be to drive to the Global MC office located roughly 15 minutes from WHR, where you will be given keys and directions to your specific unit (this is how Global and other big MCs do it). They are also sticklers about not letting guests checkin early, so don't bother showing up early, just an FYI.

Our realtor works for Global Realty, their sister company, so I have heard a bit about how they operate. He has said it's common for people to show up early expecting to get early checkin, usually the keys aren't back from the homes and cleaning crews early, so it's not that they're being unreasonable, it's just not possible!

I did get an email back when I tried another email address for the owners and looks like we are all set. :cool1:

Thanks for the info, we are actually getting there a few days early and staying at the Nick Hotel for 2 nights then 1 night at Cocoa Beach, so I don't think we will get back to Orlando super early for check in. Windsor Hills looks awesome though so we are really excited!

BTW, I grew up near Elmhurst. We lived in Hillside until 1987 then moved to Lombard. I went to Immaculate Heart of Mary High in Westchester. I worked in Villa Park for several years before moving to Colorado after vacationing here. Met my husband here and the rest is history! Still have family in your area and visit on occasion though. I know Elmhurst very well (or did), since I have been gone over 11 years now!

Glad I found out about WH and thanks again for all the great info, we appreciate it!!:)

Small world isn't it!? Elmhurst has changed a lot, it's been through just a huge building boom where they're tearing down all of the old houses and putting up new ones, and the downtown area has undergone extensive renovation, lots of new shops, townhomes, condos, etc. You know what they say about location and real estate, it's just been booming here!

Anyhow, enjoy Windsor Hills, and please do come back and post a review of the place you stayed in, hope you have a great time! We're heading down ourselves in 10 days now!

I'm amazed how much the suburbs of Chicago and Chicago itself has changed every time I return. (Except for the mayor--I heard Daley was re-elected for his 6th term! Wow! Although I remember when I was very little and his father was Mayor!:)) Now if we could just get those Cubbies to win! ;)

I had a question about the waterslide at WH, do you know why they don't allow a parent to go down with a child? My oldest is almost 6 but short, she probably won't be happy about not using it, but I'm sure we'll have fun anyway, plus we have a splash pool as well. But just wondering why an adult can't take them down.:confused3

Have fun on your upcoming trip as well!!:cool1:

Not sure on that one...I'm guessing it's for safety, or perhaps insurance reasons, but that's just a guess. I know they have an attendant sitting there regulating it so only 1 person goes up at a time, and they check your height on a sign type thing (48").

I called the clubhouse last week to confirm the height for someone else, but didn't ask about the reasons why, I could probably call the resort manager and inquire but it's probably not worth doing it, since I'm sure I'll get some explanation like above, and just annoy him, and they're probably not going to change it anyhow! LOL I'm sure whatever the reason is, it's a good one, at least in their view.

Currently the resort is still controlled by Pulte Homes actually, they hold all of the seats on the HOA board of directors. Over the next few years these seats will transition to the homeowners, and we will have regular board meetings, and be able to make small (or even large) changes to the resort as we see fit, but currently we're powerless basically. One request we hear a lot is that it would be nice to have wireless internet access in the clubhouse, for instance (there is not today).

Oh...and about the Cubs...if you happen to have a spare few $100 million lying around, the team is for sale this fall, it's on all the news here! We could use a good owner that will put some $$ into the team and turn them around! hehe :thumbsup2

Makes sense. Thanks again for the info.

Wish I did have enough money to buy the team, but you can't stop those overzealous fans from interfering, unfortunately!
