We've seen hummingbirds but tonight...

I saw a hummingbird MOTH. So called because they have a long proboscis that they insert into the flowers. Sorry I couldn't get a picture of that but here he/she is feeding. I haven't seen one of these in about 20 years!

OMG! We have seen these the last couple years at my MIL's feeding on their butterfly bush and had NO clue as to what they were! We kept thinking they were some type of moth, but the body was too thick! Figures the DIS would have the answers!!

We have them too! I remember the first time we saw one we didn't know what the heck it was!!! Very strange, but cool looking!

We have them too . . .DH says they are called a Sphinx Moth. I think they are pretty.

I've seen those around here where I live (southeastern PA) over the last couple of years. They love my Vitex bush. But I did see a real hummingbird yesterday.

I saw my 1st real hummingbird just yesterday also. I was out on my 3 season porch and it was feeding on my Trumpet vine that grows around my outside shower. It was really cool to watch.

Oh my gosh, I've never seen anything like that in PA. Maybe I'm too close to the city.

It is so unusual looking. It looks so pretty on the white flowers too.
