My teen age daughters want to go back to Disney next year and we are wanting to do some different things than years past. My oldest suggested us trying a 2 ts meal. We are not picky eaters and they do like to have fun but we also like good food. What are your suggestions for a great 2 ts meal or would you stick with using our two credits for two meals? Any thoughts?

I'd hold off using those two credits for a while longer. Most of the signature restaurants are more geared to fine dining that "fun".

I personally wouldn't use 2 TS on the basic dining plan on a Signature. However, I could justify using 2 TS credits on HDDR (as another poster mentioned). Decent food, unlimited beer/wine/sangria (for you of course) and a whole lot of fun.

If you are looking to do a Signature, maybe on the day you don't have a TS credit for if you decide to go to HDDR, some good options that may work for the whole family are Flying Fish, Jiko or Cali Grill. Paying OOP for a Signature is not so bad. You can easily get away with sharing a lot to cut the costs. :thumbsup2

My rankings of the DDP signatures I've been to:

1. Citricos
2. Tie between Jiko and Flying Fish
4. California Grill
5. Tie between Artist Point and Hollywood Brown Derby

I like all of the above, but some better than others as indicated in the rankings.

7. Narcoossee's (Doesn't deserve to be a signature IMO)

We loved California Grill too! I did not think CRT was worth 2 credits at all. We did both for dinner.

California Grill. Trust me on this.. It will be the highlight of your trip.

I agree!! California Grill is amazing. We eat here twice on each trip.

Another vote for Cali Grill! Just the view for the fireworks alone is worth it. The food is wonderful as well.

If you are seafood lovers, Flying Fish has fun theming and then you could spend the rest of the evening on the Boardwalk.

But Cali Grill would be my first choice.

I've never tried the Cali Grill (but now after seeing all the reviews, I just might!); however, I've been to Artist Point and the Brown Derby - both are superb and both offer good "meat & potatoes" meals (steak, short ribs, etc).

I've done Le Cellier for lunch before it was a 2 TS restaurant and it was wonderful. Again, steaks, cheese soup, etc.

Last trip we did HDDR, Brown Derby, and California Grill. The trip before we did the Mickey's BBQ.

The kids loved the HDDR and the food was something that made them happy. I loved that I stumbled to the bus from unlimited sangria. The food was good, the show was fun.
The California Grill was fabulous. Getting to see the fireworks was an added bonus, but the food was superb. Next time we will just go for the sushi and the view and pay out of pocket.
The Brown Derby was okay but nothing to write home about. It wasn't bad, but just not worth the two credit burn.
Mickey BBQ was awful. I just can't see wasting credits on this ever again.
As for Le Cellier, while I love it, I will just go for lunch and use one credit and be done with it.

If you are paying for the DDP, then most 2-credit meals are a very very bad value for the credits, and you are financially better off using the credits for 2 separate dinners.
If you don't care about getting the best value, such as if you got free DDP, then I fully endorse the signature restaurants. None of them are anything close to fine dining, but they are vastly superior to most of the regular 1-credit TS restaurants.
Others have recommended the shows such as HDDR -- I find it's good to entertain young children. But it's also simply BAD food.
So if you like good food, you may really enjoy using the credits for 1 of the real signature restaurants.
I find most 1-credit restaurants to be on par with American chain restaurants -- Olive Garden, Applebee's, etc. I find the signature restaurants to be more on par with slightly upscale casual restaurants. (But still an entirely different league than fine dining).
