Ok Guys first off I need to explain the change in title - sorry if I confused anyone! The reason is simple when I desperatly wanted to start writing this trippie I had a mental block of what to call it and if I waited until I had a flash of inspiration really it would never happened!! Anyway I just sat down with my notes and the song Ive had the time of my life was playing in the background and it just fits so perfectly to how i feel about this trip that I just had to change the title !!
Anyway on with the trippie -

Sunday 29th November 2010

So Sundays are a day of rest, Right? er no Wrong !! I was feeling better for the first time since I was ill and finally had the need to go out and do something the kids seemed to sense that mom was now feeling better and got dressed quick smart ready for the first day that mom would hack the pace!!
First stop Celebration market ! I had promised a very special friend that I would collect some soy flakes from here for her and I was detrmined not to let her down! We had never been to Celebration and I have always wanted to go and have a nose so this made me put the time aside to do so :thumbsup2
Wow how beautiful is Celebration !!

So we eondered around the market and bought the best fresh bread i have ever tasted and some gingerbreads which were equally mouth watering! Ben had also placed an order for a personalised Liverpool football club emblem painting that he had got very excited about and we decided to take a wander round and the huge christmas tree was calling me over it would be rude not to take a picture wouldnt it !!

From here we could see a spectaculaur fountain that drew my kids like a magnet!!

Now while we were standing watching the fountain Wayne declared that he bet noone would stand in the square for a photo !! The kids looked very bemused why wouldnt they ?? The water clearly didnt reach them there and before anyone could say anything Cam ran in and looked very triumphant at reaching the middle the shouting from me to come back quick just confused him !! He was truimphant he had reached the middle and was dry Just as he pulled his pose for the promised pic the fountains went to their maximum and poured what seemed like 10 ton of water straight over him!! Cam thought he must have got his postioning slightly wrong and side stepped !!:rotfl2:
Well we dont have a pic of him getting drenched because we were laughing so hard it was impossible to take!! There was a man who looked quite scary sitting at a table by the cofee shop who was also doubled over and had tears running down hs face at the sight of Cam still standing waiting for his picture to be taken whilst being drenched !! Most definatly one of the highlights of the holiday !!

Told you laughing too hard to take a picture!!

And we promised a pic by the fountain so here he is soaking wet !!

After wringing out his tshirt and composing ourselves enough so we could walk we made our way back to the car! On the way an Australian gentleman stopped us to tell us there was a Gator in the lake just by the rocking chairs!! Some very brave people were still sitting on these rocking chairs I however chose to look at the gator from the above and behind the safety of the railings!!

So now a little drier we make it back to the car and determined not to go back to the villa for any reason today we head to stop number 2 !!
I know mean mom but it was very warm today and I did turn teh aircon off for Cam so he didnt freeze while we drove !!

Stop number 2 ...

Now for those of you who dont know what this (why did you not read trip report no 1??) Give Kids the world is a village where Children who have life threatning illnesses can go and enjoy 7 days in orlando stress free and cost free!! It is the most amazing place and was where we stayed on our very first trip to Disney.
Once you ahve stayed there you are considered family and whenever in the area there is an open invitation to return and spend as much as much time as you like there!

Now my children adore this place, us as parents not so high on our list of must dos!! The kids dont get the emotional knot that we do returning here they just see fun fun fun around every corner! We go through hoops from how amazing that we still have Cameron to bring him back too we should never have been able to come here in the first place! This year ws particularly tough as Cameron has had so much treatment and to be able to stand there with him was just truly amazing !!

Anyway where was I?
So we arrived at GKTW and at reception they ask us why Cam was dripping wet! After a short explanation which had me crying laughing again we were handed a towel to dry him off and everyone ese had joined in our amusement !! Bless teh lady she even came round to dry his hair off for him !!
Then we ventured outside to the kids shouted first stop Ice cream !!
They had their fill of ice cream ( everything is free at GKTW) and the volunteers really couldnt be any nicer!!
Then it was off into Amberville

Where the boys played with the boats and Keira posed for pics.

Since we were last here EAGAMES have added a full on xbox studio where its all set up with a huge screen that filled the wall the boys instantly decide Give kids needed to rock and started a game of guitar hero !! Really though the only thing rocking was me an wayne and that was laughter !!

After showing teh kids how it is done (Iwish) we were back in the glorious sunshine for a wander round.
We discovered another new addition of Mayor Claytons house and was amzed to find we could go inside and then teh kids loved the tiny furniture.

Next stop was the part I was dreading the castle of miracles! In the castle of miracles stars line the ceiling and each star represents a child that has stayed at the village. Last year I was so upset finding his star that I decide I didnt want to look for it but the kids wanted to go in and see what was happening in there. When they were busy playing in the hide and seek tree I dont know what came over me but I had to see it was still there I was hoping to go unnotice straining my neck at the ceiling to find a tiny star but a lovely gentleman volunteer came in and declared he would climb a ladder and find his star - arrggh nooo dont let wayne see im fixated on it again !! Too late he was up the ladder and searching !! We found it and once again my heart stopped racing as he is still firmly placed on the ceiling of hope!!
163046_1669184963973_1067814739_1829624_1921524_n.jpg

Now while Im having my nervous breakdown the kids had been entertained by a volunteer and the wishing fountain which burps when you throw coins in !! As you can imagine my kids couldnt get enough !!
Cam asked if it worked if you made a wish for real ? The lady said Give it a go we are in the castle of miracles after all ! So in he threw his cent and turned round three times as he had been told to do and then said " My wish would be to meet Jeff Hardy!!"
Oh my god my heart stopped and my eyes filled with the tears id been fighting back I knew this wish would come true and yet he was oblivious and had his eyes screwed tight in such hope that the magic fountain worked !! How I didnt spoil the surprise there and then ill never know !!
154274_1669185363983_1067814739_1829625_8259093_n.jpg

Now we walked exited quickly before we gave the game away and turned teh corner to find yet another new addidtion !! Water fountain play area!! My kids were in seventh heaven ! And yes for the 2nd time today Cam was soaked by the fountains :)
165057_1669222364908_1067814739_1829769_3562548_n.jpg

I however choose to sit with my feet up watching the kids running through the water they were so happy it was a pleasure to just take a minute and watch them laughing and running round and Just be kids!!

After a good hour they decide they were hungry so we went and collected some lunch from the fast service window they went for sandwiches and devoured them so quick ready for the play park !!
157030_1669226685016_1067814739_1829803_6406458_n.jpg

As we sat watching the kids run round like loons teh same volunteer who had helped me find Cams star passed by and declared us sitting there was a real kodak moment that he wanted to capture !! After he had our camera he told us to go back to what we were doing before he interupted - well acting natural when you know someone is taking a pic is immpossible for me and teh resulting pic is actually quite funny but the sentiment is there and I guess we must have looked pretty relaxed for him to insist on taking the picture !
155756_1669228085051_1067814739_1829813_6950697_n.jpg

After posing for a few pictures around the park and tip toeing past the snoring tree we headed for home !!

We decided later this evening that this will be the last trip for a while to GKTW who knows maybe after a few more years we can visit and it will just be happy memories we remember !! If we get the elusive end to treatment maybe we will return!!

So back at the villa we packed up ready for the move to the new villa ! Also I know we had an early night as tommorow was the day I had been waiting for I get to see MY CASTLE for the very first time and boy was I excited !!

Day 8 Here

What a lovely day - although incredibly emotional for you. What an amazing place GKTW is - how wonderful that the children enjoy going there so much - although I can see why it is such a bittersweet place for you to visit.

So glad you enjoyed Celebration.

Tammy

What a wonderful place . I can understand how emotional it must have been returning there

The kids look so happy in all the photos and you both look like very proud parents watching them on the bench.

I hope to see Celebration one day. I managed to get my husband to drive through but he wouldn't stop as he said it felt very Stepford Wives
What a wuss!!

I must admit we did think twice about getting out the car it was very strange and eerie. Everything was so beautiful yet all the rocking chairs remained empty all morning - not a single person in sight !!

I reccomend the market though everyone was so friendly and we picked up some very special bits and bobs and if im honest it was well worth a visit Just for the fresh bread :thumbsup2

Love the little area by the waterfront at Celebration, could sit and drink it in for ages. Very poignant moment with Cam's wish, too.

I found this very hard to read out aloud to Kirsty as it was so emotional.

what a great day. You certainly made the most of your first not sick day

susan

Wow Louise, you've made me cry :lovestruc Touching day but I'm pleased Cameron went back there this time as a more happy & healthy boy.

Cannot wait to read Jeff Hardy day after that wish! :goodvibes

What a great day! Many thanks for your lovely post and sharing your very emotional visit to GKTW!

I have just returned from the Podcast cruise and was in the Walt Disney Theatre on the Disney Wonder when Pete announced the Power of Ten (to ask ten thousand people to ask ten friends to donate ten dollars) to raise a million dollars for GKTW! The chief executive of GKTW gave a very emotional talk about the charity which was hugely inspiring.

I'm so pleased to read your post to hear about what an amazing place it is from an "insiders" point of view - what a fantastic charity! Thanks for sharing your really special day!

I'm blubbing too ~ it was very brave of you both to go back but shows what a fantastic place it is that your kids love it so much they wanted to return.

What an amazing fun filled day. It's clear to see how relaxed all your kids are when they are at GKTW, but also easy to see why it is difficult for you and Wayne.
And well done on not spoiling the surprise. You must have been about fit to burst when he said that. And whos to say that the only reason he got to meet him wasn't because he made that wish :goodvibes

A rollercoaster of a day emotion wise x x x
