We've got the moves like Mickey....a January 2012 Trip Report

Hey there!

Welcome to our trip report! I say "our" because there are three dis-ers (and one non...boo!) who were on this trip, and we've all got things to say We have already collaborated some, but expect to see some guest posts as well!

At the end of January, we all made the journey to The Most Magical Place on Earth....WALT DISNEY WORLD. And while we would all gladly be there for no specific reason, this time we were on a mission: to check my brother into the Disney College Program (and to make a music video )

Here are the details:

When: January 28th- February 1st
Where: WDW!! (staying at POP Century)
Who: Mommy, Trey (WDW’s newest cast member!), Natasha, Lisa and a special guest appearance by Katie (Lisa’s mommy!)
Why: to celebrate the start of my brother’s College Program

While we were there, we filmed a music video. Are we pros? NO! Did we have an amazing time and laugh our butts off? You know it!

Like I mentioned in the intro, our trip was from January 28th- February 1st

The trip started A LOT earlier for mommy and Trey…they were driving to Orlando so that Trey could have a car with him during his program. It’s quite the journey from California to Florida so they packed up and left on January 23rd!

There route looked like this:

On their first day they went from Los Angeles, CA to Las Cruces, NM. The next morning, they stopped at the White Sands Monument. The pictures looked awesome!

Second day consisted of driving from Las Cruces, NM to San Antonio, TX aka driving through a whole lotta nothing! Texas is huge and they were getting tired of not seeing anything.

After spending the night in San Antonio, they got back into the car and drove to New Orleans, LA. They went through some crazy thunderstorms which definitely kept things interesting

They spent 2 nights in New Orleans…giving their legs some much needed stretch time.

I could really do a whole album of mommy's New Orleans pictures...they were SO pretty!

On Friday they drove from New Orleans, LA to Orlando, FL and stayed at a hotel near the airport. The original plan was for me to fly in on the redeye Friday which would have gotten me there at 6AM Saturday morning so they would be close to the airport to pick me up. Unfortunately (VERY) I couldn’t take the extra day off of work so I had to fly out the next day.

While they were driving across the country, Lisa and I were getting SO anxious. If you didn’t already know, we had done the program together last year (link to my CP “trip” report in my signature!) and were dying to be reunited there and help Trey get settled in!

On Saturday (January 28th) Lisa flew from Atlanta, GA to Melbourne, FL with her mom, Trey and my mom explored Orlando and I sat at work…all day. It was killing me! FINALLY I got off of work at 3PM and went home to finish packing, take a shower and eat some dinner before heading to the airport.

Alex (DH) took me to the airport and even though we left late and took a pit stop we got there RIGHT at 930PM which is the time I wanted to be there by

My flight was pretty uneventful. I had a row to myself so I took advantage of that and laid across the three seats to get some sleep…I knew I had a long day ahead of me!​

Yea, we had a lot of fun with it! Like I mentioned before, we definitely aren't pros but will hopefully make some more and keep getting better!

omg. That video made me laugh so much! I love how you got the CM to dance with you! And the empty monorail.. that is so awesome! This seems like it's going to be a great report, I can already tell.

Those White Sands totally remind me of where the Cave of Wonders is in Aladdin LOL. I love the pics from New Orleans as well. I really want to go there someday! For now I'll have to settle for POFQ, haha.

When I left you last... Trey and mommy were safe and sound in Orlando, Lisa and her mom were in Florida ,and I was on my flight to MCO!

I woke up as the pilot was announcing our final descent into the Orlando area. WOOOHOOO!!! I probably had a solid 3.5 hours of sleep on the flight...not very much but I was so excited and ready for my magical Disney day to begin!

I made my way to baggage claim to meet my chauffer…aka Lisa! It was so great to see her again Her and her mom had graciously offered to pick me up at the ungodly hour of 6AM and we headed to the POP!

My mom and Trey were still sleeping when we got there…but not for long! I jumped in the shower to freshen up, we all changed, and then we headed to Everything POP for breakfast.

I was so so SO excited to be there! I love the smells and the energy at Disney. The POP especially. It’s home

For breakfast, Lisa and her mommy split the bounty platter, Trey got a breakfast croissant sandwich, Mommy had some eggs (fired up of course!) and a yogurt parfait and I got the breakfast pizza.

I ALWAYS get oatmeal at the POP so this was very out of character for me. But, I had seen it on the DIS so many times that I decided to give it a try…YUM!

With our bellies full we headed out to our first park of the day...Animal Kingdom!​

When I last left you we were heading out of the Pop Century and making our way to Animal Kingdom!

We got a parking spot in the Unicorn lot (does anyone else thing that it's weird they chose to have a unicorn lot?! haha) and made our way through the cast member turnstile at 9:22AM and started making our way to Kilimanjaro Safaris. But of course, we stopped for some pictures too...

After our awesome safari, we grabbed some coffee and made the long trek to Asia, got our thrills on Everest, and then made our way out of the park.

Next stop...Epcot! ​
