Arriving at All-Star Sports

We were surprised how empty the parking lots were at All-Star Sports, since the Resort was completely booked! We ended up having to book our nights using Expedia.

Well, I quickly realized it was because of all the school groups staying at the Resort. What schools travel over Thanksgiving?

Anyway, there were middle school aged children everwhere! There were cheerleaders, basketball players, and the list goes on! The grounds were mobbed the entire time we were there. I really felt like I was back in middle school on a field trip!


I was happy we got a room in Building 7 because it is the Touchdown area, so the football field was outside of our room. It was also near the lobby and food, which was great! I liked being by the big football helmets and footballs! When I called my Mom, the first thing she asked was, "Are you by a big football?" She started cracking up when I told her "yes."

We arrived to our room and I was so happy to be greeted by a towel animal! I've been lucky during our last two trips with the towel animals!! Mickey, Chip, & Dale were so happy to get to the room and ran over and started jumping on the bed.

Chip 'n Dale then saw another towel animal on top of the TV and ran over to see what it was. They had no clue and neither did I. They decided it would still be their friend anyway.

We ended up getting a handicapped room becasue DH & I had requested a king size bed. DH walked into the bathroom and saw that we had no tub! I was shocked too and we didn't know how the showering was going to work in there! There wasn't even a slant in the floor or anything, so the water would all run down. The whole bathroom floor would just stay wet all the time! I think there could have been a better design. Plus, the door was a sliding door and there was no lock! We stayed in a handicapped room at Pop Century as well because we requested a king size bed and it was nothing like this. It had a tub and the door had a lock, but it would also be very accessible for the handicapped. I guess they realized they needed a better design when they began to build Pop!

My first job when I got to the room was to "DIS" it! The Boys and I started to decorate our window DIS style!

Chip 'n Dale decided they wanted to play in the window and wave to everyone who walked by, while DH & I got ready for our Thanksgiving dinner.

I began unpacking all of our bags and getting our room settled for the next three nights. DH & Mickey got dressed and ready for dinner and laid down to take a short nap. They were asleep within seconds!

Thank you! Yeah, it really does stink! It just happened at a bad time. I'm glad you're enjoying my Trippie and pics! I will be posting a lot!

Wow, I really liked reading your trip report and looking at all the pictures (sure beats writing a paper for finals! )!

Ok, the stuff you found at Target was super cute...I want it! Also loved the pictures of the new tickets. When we went down in October and decided to treat our grandma to a trip as well as a birthday gift, the ticket she got was like that...hers was a picture of four of the dwarfs on Splash Mountain, with Grumpy up in front. I forget exactly what it said at the bottom but it was something along the lines of "where everyone is happy no matter their name." hehe Unfortunately I didn't get a cool one since we already had tickets. :-(

I also think I want some of those Disney crocs...

I know how awful finals can be! I am so happy those days are over! I really feel for ya! My brother is about to have his finals as well. No fun! No fun at all!

That sounds like a cool ticket! I'd love to see them all! They are the coolest I have ever seen! I'd love to get one of every kind and collect them. I wonder what others they have...

I was just at Target earlier today and they had a lot more Disne stuff in the $1 bins!

Welcome Back! Sorry to hear about the Doom Buggy. I had that happen to one of my cars when it was brand new as well. Even though it can be replaced, it still "hurts" cause its your new car.

Loving the pics so far, can't wait to hear more! How did the house hunting go??

Oh, and be careful letting Chip n' Dale drive! I hear they are reckless on the road!

Yeah, it does hurt. It hurts me more than it hurts "The Doom Bugy." I hated getting in the car today and seeing the huge crack in front of me. No one wants problems with their new car. It's the worst!

The house hunting went great! I'm waiting to fill everyone in on the details. I'm waiting to see how things go in the next couple of days before I say anything. I don't want to jinx it. I have many big announcements to make, so stay tuned.

Chip 'n Dale are two crazy boys! We didn't let Dale know that DH was really driving the car. Shhh... It's our little secret. Dale was just so proud of himself!

Thank you for the well wishes for "The Doom Bugy." It needs it. The Boys were do happy and Chip 'n Dale were too excited to sleep the ENTIRE trip! I can't wait to tell you how they were during our trip! The Boys just loved the towel animals! They liked having more friends to play with during the vacation!

I am now in love with towel animals! I had never gotten any before and I had just found out about them on The DIS! I got towel animals for the first time on our last trip in October and now during our Thanksgiving trip! I was so happy to find them!

Oh, and you know the shower had the removable shower head, which wouldn't stay up and the water would squirt everywhere! It was so awful taking a shower in there! We're lucky we didn't have any accidents!

On our way to Fort Wilderness


I had to wake up DH & Mickey from their quickie nap, so we could go catch our bus to the MK, so we could then catch the boat to Fort Wilderness for our Thanksgiving dinner!

Of course, we had to stop at the gift shop first to check out all of the Disney Christmas items. We found the coolest hats! The were just too funny!

I found a very cute Santa Mickey candle holder and a few other Christmas items and had the store hold them, so I could pick them up when we returned to All-Star Sports. I know all the Halloween items sold out very quickly, so I didn't want to take my chances. Sure enough, on the day we checked out they were sould out of the Santa Mickey candle holders.

We got over to MK and had some time to kill, so I decided we should all take a trip on the monorail and make a quick stop at the Polynesian. It has a very special place in my heart! Chip 'n Dale were so excited about riding on the monorail! They had never been on it before or had even seen it! They knew they were going to go on a boat, but when I told them they got to go on the monorail too, that took them over the edge of excitement!

The Boys loved the monorail ride and were giving us trouble when we had to get off at the Polynesian stop. I had to calm them down and told them we'd be getting back on very soon. We got to the Polynesian and walked around to enjoy the Christmas decorations.

Our reservations at Trail's End were at 8:30pm, very late for us, but that's all they had available with our last minute booking. The Boys were starving, so we decided to see if we could get seated early.

We boarded the boat to FW and the Boys were so happy to be on the water, DH included!

Dale loved looking at over the water and Mickey was very happy to just sit in my lap. Mickey is the well-behaved one in the bunch!

This was our first trip to Fort Wilderness and I was excited to check it out! It was very chilly tonight too, so it really was feeling like Thanksgiving! I loved seeing all of the Christmas decorations around the Fort. The grounds of FW were beautiful and it really did feel like we were miles away from WDW, but FW still had the Disney "feel." We loved seeing everyone's golfcarts decorated for Christmas! They were so neat! We just loved the vibe and now I'm thinking I really want to stay at one of the log cabins in the near future! I think it would be so much fun and so great around Christmas time!

We checked in at Trail's End and the CM told us she'd try to seat us as soon as she could! My DH used his charm and wit!

We took a seat over in the rocking chairs and it was just the perfect Thanksgiving setting! I couldn't have imagined a better way to celebrate Thanksgiving!

The Boys are getting hungry and Dale wants his cranberry sauce!!

Hi all!

I just want to update everyone that DH & I made an offer on a house earlier today. We are really hoping it goes through, but we aren't too confident because the owner of the house is a realator. I'll keep the rest of the info. quiet for now. I don't want to jinx anything, but everyone please keep their fingers crossed for us! We should know if it's a go or not by Monday. I hope I will have good news to report! DH & I really love this house and hope it becomes our home.

We are also on our way to "Monsters Inc." on Ice tomorrow! We just got back from Disney and we still have to get our fix! That's the life of a DIS'er, I guess! It looks like it'll be a fun show! Can it get any better than big monsters skating around on ice!?
