Just a quick note to say WE'VE BOOKED!!!!

We've booked a private villa for Jan 2008.

Has anyone any experience of booking thru villatorent.net

That's who we've booked theu, the guy was very helpful and gave us a discount Just thought I would ask before I send my deposit off!!!!!!

So excited - my daughter has already started telling her pals in nursery that she's going to AMERICA!!!!!!! Oh dear, this could be a long 5 month wait!!!

Also can anyone send me in the right direction for checking our passports meet regulations etc.

Sorry can't help with villatorent.net - haven't come across them before but just had a quick look at the site and the villas look lovely.

As far a the passports are concerned I think they need to be the new style ones and the airlines usually say there needs to be 6 months remaining when you return. Also your DD needs to have her own.

Lots of planning now as the 5 months will go very quickly.

Hi Guys,
We went for Formosa Gardens Estates in the end, villa looks lovely and the size of the 'plot' looks great etc....

We also decided to fly UC with Virgin, our first time!! Can't quite believe it but with having little ones who will be almost 2 and 4 at our time of flying, just felt it would make the flight more 'bearable'!!!!!!!!! Also my Mum and Dad who are both (young!) 70 year olds are coming too, so it really will be a trip of a lifetime!!!!!! and so the larger villa will give us a bit of space to ourselves should we feel the need!!!!!!!

Can't picture what UC will be like??! Our girls are pretty well behaved but wondering if the cabin will be full of people who booked UC to get away from kids??!?!??!?

Also on the topic of UC, when I booked the flight, the lady told me to ensure we had adequate insurance as should we have to alter any of the details on our tickets, the whole of the party would have to upgrade to full price tickets and we would have to pay in the region of £16k difference!!!!!!!! Anyone have any experience on this one??

Great news on booking. Formosa Gardens is supposed to be lovely - we've never stayed in a villa but have looked at a few in that area.

Not sure about the insurance thing. As long as you have normal travel insurance, I can't think what other cover you might need.

I think you will be very pleased with the location of Formosa Gardens. We stayed "next door" in Emerald Island and both are only 2 minutes drive from the US192.

The Formosa Gardens Shopping Centre (at the junction of Formosa Gardens Road and the 192) has a wide range of shops and restaurants and a large Goodings supermarket

There is also a nearby short cut to WDW. Turn right onto the 192 (East). At the next set of traffic lights turn left onto Sherberth Road. Just follow this road for about a mile and you are on WDW property Just follow the signs to wherever you want to go This avoids the main 192/I4junction and entry point.

Formosa Gardens has a great location, a Publix less than a mile away and easy access to disney/I4 and restaurants too.

Hi we are also thinking of going to this area next August, which we stumbled on by coincidence. We were considering the Best Western Lakeside or a villa in Formosa Gardens. We are 2 families staying together 4adults 2 children but non drivers. Is this location close enough to maybe taxi to Animal Kingdom and then to other parks using disney transport, or downtown disney and then transport. Also if in Best Western is it suicidal to get across the 192 to the restaurants on other side? Any advice on best option would be appreciated. I wont be booking until I return from ASMo in 3 weeks time!!
