You might also want to ask Mousekeeping if you could just go ahead and get a spare set of sheets for his bed. That way, if he wakes in the middle of the night, you could change the bed and he'd be able to go back to sleep instead of dealing with it until morning.
Just wanted to ditto this idea! When my kids were in diapers/potty training we did this and it was helpful fpr everyone to still sleep again after the incident! We have done both the shower curtain (dont know bed size) and mattress pad option (do know it!) and we also like to put something like a crib waterproof absorbing pad pn top of it to reduce the plastic feel/sound...
