Wet N Wild Questions

Hey all! After obsessively haunting . . . er, I mean occasionally reading these boards :rolleyes1 for months, I'm posting my first thread in hopes of getting the gossip on Wet N Wild. We plan on going there at its opening on Friday, September 17th, so . . .

1. I know weekends are still crowded in September, but how bad will it be on a Friday?

2. Which attractions are the most popular and should be hit first thing in the morning before it gets more crowded? Just don't say Bomb Bay. I think I'll need to warm up for that one. I still have Summit Plummet wedgie nightmares. ;)

3. My DH is not a water park kind of guy. (He was a bit traumatized by a mild slide that left him fishtailing off his mat with our then four-year-old son clinging to his face like a cartoon cat.) Can anyone recommend a nice, shady spot for him to relax with a good book while I run around with our boys? We'd love to rent a cabana, but that's out of our price range.

4. Are coolers are still allowed?

We're also thinking about leaving midday to check out Aquatica. (We have Flex-Tickets that include both.) So . . .

5. Would Aquatica be horribly crowded at, say, one o'clock on a Sept. Friday? I'm wondering if it would be worth it to relocate or just stay at Wet N Wild.

Thanks in advance for any help!! I love it here.

We were just there so I have some gossip for you! I wouldn't worry too much about huge crowds on a Fri in Sept...most kids are back to school already. We got there at opening and had a few hours with minimal waits...actually, none of our waits were too bad that day.

Bomb Bay really doesn't get much of a line throughout the day so you can save that for later (it isn't too bad...I survived!). I would head to Bubba Tub first...for some reason that takes forever and the line gets huge! Brainwash, Disco H2O and the Black Hole are the other biggies...I think Brainwash gets the longest but we can't go on that yet since my kids are too little so I am not sure.
We headed over to Disco H2O first and went on that twice and the Surge twice.
The shortest lines are for the Blast and the Flyer. Mach 5 gets long but it moves quickly (and all of those are in the same area so you can get them done together).
Oh, the other one that gets really long is the Storm...we didn't do that this year but I did it last year and waited a while. I found it to be very uncomfortable and jarring so I skipped it this year.

Around the wave pool there are big umbrellas and shade covers so your husband should be OK there.
I can answer any other specific questions!

Awesome, thanks so much for your help, Jill! :thumbsup2 And jarring and uncomfortable? Yeah, I think I'll be skipping Storm. I'm a tough gal with rides and roller coasters, but that one freaks me out. I will do the Bomb Bay, though. It's either that our be called a chicken by my boys. ;)

Oh, and what about the knee ski, wake skating, and inner tubing around the lake for a nominal fee. Has anyone done those? It looks kind of fun.

Thanks again, Jill!

Three weeks, one day to our trip, YIKES . . .
