We can't decide which water park of the two to visit. We have 3 children, 16, 13 and 8. What do you recommend and why?

Thank you,

Diane

i would recommend aquatica only because i didn't care for wet n wild. haven't been to aquatica but i would try that compared to wet n wild. if you do go to wet n wild watch out for the people in thong swimsuits....... not the best look.

we were at aquatica last week and loved it but have never been to wet n wild

We've been to both! We went to Aquatica last week and we were at Wet&Wild last February (2008). I brought both of my kids, son 16, daughter 9. Aquatica is new and very colorful. Lots of cool rides. Our favorites were the slide and the rapids. The dolphin plunge is kind of a joke because you most likely won't see a dolphin during the half second you are in there. Water was very warm in all the rides. Food was not very good. Wave pool was cool. Admission was more expensive then W&W. Wet and wild has more rides and more variety. My son noted that almost all the aquatica rides had rafts involved where W&W had a few more free slides. W&W is slightly cheaper ($35 vs $45). I would choose based on your kids. My son like W&W better. They are similar parks. let me know if you have any other questions.

We went to Wet n' Wild in August 2007 and my kids (14 & 16 at the time) weren't impressed. They thought our local water park was just as good, if not better.

For kids of the ages specified I'd go for Wet'n Wild. Aquatica's toddlers/kids park is awesome, but the rest of the rides for older kids are so-so. Wet'n Wild has got an excellent range of rides to keep teenagers happy. Its mostly concrete though, not much of a theme.

We are planning to go Aquatica this year. It would be our first time. Hope we enjoyed it and had a great time as much as we did Wet n Wild. :lmao:

We're going to Aquatica for the first time this year, also, because we have 2 year passes to Busch parks. Trying to get our money's worth! :goodvibes

Dont miss the Aquatica "lazy" river. We had sunbeds by the entrance. Watching everyone diligently putting on lifejackets for a lazy river, soooo wussy. Then we decided to have a go and found out why . Hanging on to the persons jacket in front part of a train of 10 was a scream and the river really moves around some of the bends. Best attraction in the park.

Cheers

Haven't been to W & W for more than 20years...so probably shouldn't comment--but I will---YUCK! It's like a giant asphalt beach with each "attraction" right on top of each other. Maybe that's changed???

Aquatica--We went about 4 weeks after it opened last year. I agree with a PP's comment about the "lazy" river being a not miss attraction! We loved that more than the wave pool. DS13 spent most of the afternoon happily floating, twisting and swishing. Food=not so good...pricey and just so-so--I highly recommend not getting the all-you-can-eat meal---worse than a school cafeteria! Instead...get the pizza and chicken strips-VERY good! We liked the "beachy" areas with umbrellas and lounge chairs when we weren't on the attractions.

Might I recommend Typhoon Lagoon at Disney! It is a gorgeously landscaped park. (unlike the 2 above-Aquatica's landscaping will take a while to "fill in".)
The wave pool is awesome, plentiful beach chairs, truly relaxing lazy river and fun water coaster rides and the not to be missed shark reef. DH & DS12 spent a lot of time snorkeling through that tank! Food-typical Disney counter service stuff--but we like it!

Hope this helps. I consider myself somewhat of a waterpark expert as I live 2 hours from the waterpark capital of the world-The Wisconsin Dells! Been to all "The Dells" waterparks. LOL!!!

haven't been to Auquatica but I read that they don't allow tubes in the wave pool. This is our favorite part that is why we like better WnW over the disney water parks. been twice to WnW never saw thongs like past comment (that would definatly bother me.) my kids were 10 & 15 last time we went and 8 & 13 the time before that. We are not into the big rides we love the family rides and sitting in our tubes and being pushed by the waves. Picking the place all depends on what you like, everyone is different. Have fun!
