WestJet - Seat Selection??

We're flying Westjet this week to Orlando.

I've checked the website but it appears the website check-in with seat selection is only available on domestic flights. And that we can't get our seat selection until we actually arrive at the airport.

We obviously want to sit together as a family. How early do we need to get to the airport to make sure our seats are together?

My travel agent told us to be there 2 1/2 hours before flight time. Since most people get there 2 hours before their flight time, I'm going to be there by the 2 1/2 hour mark, maybe a few minutes earlier.

We've never had a problem getting seats together on Westjet when checking in at the airport - Last time we went we were a group of 6 and had one complete row and we checked in 2 hrs before the flight!

You should be fine!!

I was told this year at check in that WJ groups parties together when they book on one itinerary. I had called ahead about seating together, but they don't do that. They do try to group ahead of time though. The West Jet line opens exactly 3 hours prior to flight time - they can't process you any sooner. We usually aim to be there around that time, give or take 15 minutes or so. The line seems to grow really fast after about 15 minutes, so we kind of beat that little rush.

Dont' worry ... they are very good about this. Call ahead to inquire and they may just flag you as sitting together anyways. Can't hurt to try!! They can't specifically assign you seats, but maybe they'll just make a comment next to your party ... they are always very friendly and helpful people!!

Nope...domestic only.
3 hours before is what we do to guarantee our preferred seats.
They do indeed pre-plan the seating arrangement for groups so that they can attempt to keep them together
