For U.S. destinations travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. For Hawaii travel on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. For Puerto Rico travel on Saturdays.*

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$2,300 from Toronto to MCO at the end of August. WOW. There is almost $600 is additional fees on top of the fare. Definitely makes the drive to Buffalo worth it for us.

I find it's cheaper to book my return from mco separate because then you pay less taxes and fess cause it's technically a US flight. The woman on the phone didn't believe me lol but I went and did it on the site so 149 usd to tax ended up being 170 usd. and yes I LOVE WESTJET.

And yes flying from BUF is waaaay cheaper but since I can
t drive there's no easy way for me to get to the BUF airport.

Yup, I looked 2 days ago when I got the email from them & it's still more expensive than to fly out of BUF at teh moment even with the sale. The taxes were ridiculous for the flight out & the taxes for hte flight home were $24 LOL. I hate Pearson though. If they flew out of YHM in September we would book it, but since they don't, we'll head to BUF. Just waiting for seat sales to be announced from BUF & for Jetblue to open their schedule for when we're going.

We are in the same boat, except we fly from Syracuse.

With the seat sale, the cost for three of us for our August trip would be over $1600 (flying Thursday to Thursday).

Instead, we have a Sunday to Sunday booking (which we prefer.....just easier for us to book vacation time from our jobs) with Jetblue, and paid $853 taxes included. Half the price.

We love  the Syracuse airport. So easy to get around. And we love  Jetblue! So many perks included in your flight cost (free snacks, one free checked bag per person, free seat selection upon booking, a TV on every seat, and lots of leg room :thumbsup2 ).

wishing I had an American airport to fly out of....I guess I'll just have to make due with the seat sales that come up every now and then from Edmonton. Usually West jet sales don't even apply to Edmonton, which seems to be the case with this seat sale. It would cost us $800 each to get to MCO.....I haven't paid over $450 ever....this is no seat sale in my opinion.

I am so glad to hear this about jet blue...I decided a few days ago, spur of the moment to book a Disneyland trip in may...for 4 of us to fly out of Seattle (an extra 2 1/2 hr drive) AND for 10 nights hotel, it is under $1400(yah to our amazing Canadian dollar)... I also will have enough airmiles for 3 passes (7 day) and my mil is getting our 4th one with hers....very excited to fly jet blue! :cool1:

We're flying out of Syracuse too. Even with the extra 2 nights in a hotel in Syracuse (bookending the trip), we're saving about $1200 for our family of 4.

$800 each?!?!? :scared1: OMG!!!

And here I thought twice at booking Jetblue for $853 for all three of us......sure brings back a new appreciation of our options here in southern Ontario.

You're going to love them!!! :thumbsup2

I found the flight just flew by (pardon the pun :cutie:) with the TV's on the seats. A couple of episodes of your favourite show and you're there! And one of the channels shows the location of your plane on a map (along with the altitude and speed) so you know exactly how far you've travelled at any given time.

Don't forget to try the Blue Chips.....once you get past the colour (yes, they are blue ) they are very, very yummy!

Which hotel are you staying at, mayjay?

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express (2 minutes from the airport) and they were great. Excellent shuttle service. The hotel is modern and new-feeling and clean, and breakfast is included too.

Rochester is a good option as well for Aug & Sep since I see nonstop flights for $209 inc taxes. There are some fares for earlier months as well. Niagara Falls is another option but Allegiant hasn't opened fares up yet past mid August.

I just priced my July trip with Westjet.....$650 per person from YYZ. It's only $300 per person from BUF....and I thought that was high.:lmao: BUF is only and extra hour in the car so I would say that's more than worthwhile on a $1400 savings.

Hi ChrisJo :goodvibes fellow Edmontonian ;) I just booked our departure flight on West Jet with the seat sale....I had bought our return tickets on Christmas Eve with a pin code I got from Air Canada....$980 for that leg for 3 of us.....add on $25 per bag too...YUCK! but it is what it is!

I decided to bite the bullet and book with this seat sale, as you said, Edmonton fares never seemed to budge from the $369 PP......this seat sale ended up being $1180 for the three of us ($259 each plus tax and $15 seat selection charges) The prices never seemed to come down, and this is the lowest price I have seen all Yr.....sad when I am used to paying under $300 PP all taxes in the last 4 yrs. I am happy with the schedule though, I booked us out on a Thursday night (sept 27), to Toronto , then we are sleeping over in the Sheraton Gateway, right in Terminal 3..... Then we will be all rested to continue on on Fri. Sept 29 to Orlando, and only 2.5 hours of travel time! :yay: we get an extra day of Disney, so that is the only bright spot in all of this!!! I think airfare is crazy expensive, I have never paid $2,000 for 3 flights before! Worked out to approx $650 each return! Looking at some of the prices posted above from Ontario makes me see that $650 from Edmonton is pretty much the going rate right now, it seems gone are the $300 RTN fares of yesteryear! :sad2:
PS...I may have to make DL my Disney fix of the future, as it being on the west coast flights might be more affordable from Edmonton!

We're staying at a Holiday Inn Express...but the one in Cicero, near the Cracker Barrel. They've got a shuttle too and are also new. It was cheaper to stay there than at the airport one :-)

I agree with you. I'm about an hour away as well and would rather drive the distance then fly from Toronto. Just looked at my dates, with the seat sale it is still $1633 for the 3 of us. Now Southwest and Jetblue do not have my date released as of yet but showing till the end of September. The week in September is only $901. We are going Oct 14-20 so it's only a couple weeks difference. And with Southwest each person gets to check 2 pieces of luggage for free.
