:wave2: Hi everyone
Just checked Westjet's website and hopefully it's not a mistake cause they actually dropped their price for Jan/06 by $30pp. That adds up!!!
Very excited and wanted to share this good news. :Pinkbounc :bounce:  :jumping1: :dancer: :jumping2:

I just checked it - and it still doesn't beat $240 CDN roundtrip from Buffalo. There's 4 of us going in December. The best Westjet can offer us is $1,820. We can do it out of Buffalo for under $1000.

Guess where we're going and I live a 15 minute drive from Pearson...

That $800 is paying for our concierge rooms at the Poly!

Wow that is great! I'm not so lucky we're flying out of Calgary and it'll cost $2839. Isn't that crazy, but it's better than last week when it was over $3000.

Thanks for the update!

Did you book that fare, DISnJAN?

I'm so sorry to hear that... I'm lucky I have another option 90 minutes away :flower:

:wave2: HI
mbb, I still haven't booked yet, I've been watching the other sales they have had in the past and I keep thinking maybe I should wait till fall when the sales should start for Jan. DH figures I should just book and get it over with, before they put it up again! Not sure what to do yet!

tone.def, yes, you're lucky! :shamrock:

DisnJan, you might want to look into flying out of Spokane. You can often find seat sales out of there. Last time we saved over $200/person by flying out of there, had to give up a day in WDW but worth it for a family of 6. This year, airmiles for the 6 of us! Way to go Westjet and Mosaik for reducing the airmiles to 1600 for Calgary to Orlando.

:wave2: Hi calgarygary,
How far of a drive would it be to Spokane? Wow that is a good deal for airmiles, did you get to book? Thanks :flower:

DisnJan, it's an 8 hour drive to Spokane. The last time we went down was for two weeks so it was well worth our giving up a day to save that amount of money. This trip we are going Westjet non stop from Calgary through airmiles. If you collect them, suggest you check out the Mosaic gold mastercard, it was well worth the small annual fee to go from 5400(I think)a.m. to 1800 a.m. to fly to Orlando. We tied this flight in with Disney's free dining plan and booked Coronado through a loyalty program my wife has - most expensive part of trip is the car rental.

Oops typo - it was 1600 airmiles Calgary to Orlando return.

 That's a great deal you must be so excited!!! Have a great time!

I'm not so lucky, I don't have that many airmiles. That must be 1600pp right? I'm hoping for a seat sale, maybe they'll have something this fall. Thanks for the info :flower:

calgarygary- did you check Thrifty Car rental we were able to rent very cheaply from them 2 times in the past year.

:wave2: Hi calgarygary, I wanted to let you know I did some checking into what you said about airmiles and can you imagine I have enough for the 4 of us to book. I can't believe how much money I'm saving!!! :cool1: Thank you so much for letting me know about the 1600miles. I didn't know you could get them for that little amount of airmiles, Thanks again

DisnJan, make sure you have (get) the Mosaik westjet gold card with the airmiles option. You need that to get the reduced airmiles flights. Masterrocks, thanks for the info. regarding Thrifty but I just have a personal preference with National. It's not that expensive, just getting everything else through loyalty programs this year.

How much do you have to spend to get 1600 points on the Mosaik westjet gold card? Is this a sale right now or is that the regular amount of airmiles needed for this flight using the gold card?

Masterrocks, I usually ignore ads on web sites and junk mail but finally clicked on the mosaic ad on the airmiles web site. Glad I did. The airmiles from Calgary to Orlando is from 3900 (low season) to 5900 (high). We didn't have enough to fly 2 of us when we wanted to travel but by getting the card all 6 of us could fly - I'm starting to sound like an ad for them! There is an annual fee but it is not very high if you just get the basics. You get 1 mile for every $15 spent but I already had close to 10,000. The flight I wanted to take didn't have room for 6 but no problem in getting the next day.

The airmiles from Calgary to Orlando is from 3900 (low season) to 5900 (high).

At 3900 airmiles you would have to spend $58,500 to get a free flight.
At 1600 airmiles you would have to spend $24,000 to get a free flight.

So 3900 is for normal airmile users? and the 1600 is gor the gold card users? Is the 1600 a promotion or standered fair?

At the 3900 points seems it would be better to just have a 1% dividen card?

Masterrocks, you may not be too familiar with airmiles. It is a loyalty program with many partners such as Shell, Safeway, American Express, Mastercard, etc. At Safeway, they have specials almost weekly where you can earn 250 bonus miles by spending $200 in groceries, plus many of the brands will have specials ie 8 kraft product gets 50 miles. It takes our family maybe 2 to 3 years to get 10,000 miles. So with the Mosaic Westjet card we now see our miles go a lot further. The only way it would take spending the kind of money you mentioned is if you only used the credit card and never shopped at an airmiles partner.
