We've had the World Elite but really only travel to US/Canada so the new option may make it more likely to switch to the lower tier/lower fee option.
For us the Companion voucher has made travel less expensive since we get the Westjet dollars but also since we usually use the premium option for long flights.
Too be honest I think if they tinker with things too much we'd just ditch the card since we really keep it for the WJ dollars and the companion fare each year. And sadly for us the AC flights out of/to Ottawa (at least currently) are usually way better than anything offered out of Ottawa by WestJet for Orlando flights.
