We are looking to go to Orlando Feb 4-11. We flew SW to Tampa last month and DH thought it was great flying from Buffalo, especially with the MUCH cheaper airfares. I've been keeping my eyes open for a terrific SW fare, but nothing so far.
Out of curiosity, I checked WestJet. We can fly non-stop YHM Hamilton to MCO Orlando for $99 each way, total with taxes etc. is $298.01 per person so for 4 of us it would cost just under $1200 Cdn. Not bad!! We live just outside Toronto, but to fly from YYZ costs $174 one-way, $463.85 total each. It would take less than an additional hour to drive to Hamilton.
So my concern is this: With Hamilton, there is only one WestJet flight each week to/from Orlando (service actually is scheduled to begin mid-Jan 2006). What happens if there is a delay, or the flight is cancelled due to weather etc. Would we just have to wait until they are able to put another flight out? The price is good, but with unpredictable February weather I'm just not sure...
TIA for any help
