Hi Dean - thanks for posting all this great info. We are hoping to go to Hawaii next year for our 20th wedding anniversary. It will be our first (and only) trip.

Can you help me with your statement about your ff miles...you used your 150K miles for airfare, but also for part of your accommodations? Am I understanding correctly? What airline?

We have 140K+ miles which we will use for airfare for the 3 of us. I plan on using our DVC points to trade into Interval. I am just starting to figure out how this all works.

i was glad i saw your post. i am dreaming of the westin for Oct 09 for my 10 year wedding anniversary. we are going to also put in for the marriott and the kannapali beach club, but only bc we have to choose 3 resorts right? I really want the westin but they all look pretty online and the reviews seem to be above average. We went to Kauai and maui for our honeymoon and have been so excited at the idea of going back. Have a wonderful trip.

Sory to be late, Whale Watching today. Thoses 3 choices are misleading. You USUALLY have to give them 3 choices but they don't have to be related. Yould can ask for any combo of resorts and weeks such as one resort 3 weeks or 3 resorts one week. OR you can ask for one week one resort for X and then say 2 resorts for DVC at Xmas, 2009 depending on what deposit you're using.

150K got us 2 first class tickets on Delta.

this is good to know. thanks. i will request 3 different weeks at the westin since that is where we really want to go.
