I agree that making all WDW resorts smoke free will only cause people to smoke in NS rooms.
As for the fines, if they are going to start charging fines for smoking in a NS room, that is all well and good. But they should also start charging fines for rooms that are damaged from guests.
Thanks for the clarification, I went back and hunted down the article that I had read and it was not clear on that point, it made it sound like smoking only in one or two designated spots. This artlce was a lot more in-depth.
When I did a web search, the first two articles I found didn't mention that smoking would be allowed on the balconies. I was beginning to hope I had misheard the news report but then I found the USA Today article. It's really unfortunate that they are allowing people to smoke there because it's very unpleasant to be out on your balcony and have second-hand smoke blowing in your face. I've encountered this at AKL where you spend a lot of time on the balcony watching the animals and it has been so bad at times it has driven us back inside our room. It's also pretty disgusting to look down at the ground below your balcony and see all the cigarette butts down there. It's bad enough that folks smoke out on the balcony, but do they have to throw the butts off the balcony, too?
