So Westgate Lakes Resort is offering 2 free one day passes to the parks IF you do a 90 min sales tour... plus they give you breakfast before the tour.

Is this worth it? Has anyone done this? Does it really last only 90 minutes? DH and I have been in sales, so we know the low down on all sales pitches... and we definitely know how to say "NO". I figured if it's what they're saying, then I'd be willing to sit through 90 minutes for 2 free tickets to Disney. We're going to be in Orlando for almost a week... so time really isn't an issue for us.

We were planning on going to the MK for one day anyway (and SeaWorld for 2 days). That would save us $127! Then we would only have to buy our kids' tickets to the MK.

With 2 child tickets at the MK for around $100 and SeaWorld tickets for our family being $183... that's $283 total for our whole family to get 3 days of parks: 1 day at the MK and 2 days at SeaWorld... not too bad.

but we did do another sales pitch and tour..........they gave us free lodging and tickets........but the lodging was at a smaller hotel, not at their resort......................anyway, it lasted longer than 90 minutes, they were extremely high pressure, but we stuck to our guns.........we did get our tickets, but in the end, decided it really wasn't worth it, as with the free stay we ended up off-site, missing some of the magic already, then a half-day of being away from the kids on vacation, and then being treated that way..........we wouldn't do it again.

Our lodging is free too thanks to MIL's timeshare... so we're going to be offsite anyway.

I'm sorry how those people treated you! That's awful. I guess with my sales background, I kinda feel "immune" to pretty much all sales tactics. I know they try to lay it on pretty thick... and it's hard to just let it go through one ear and out the other...

I have read where others have gone into those presentations with a timer set at 90 minutes. My understanding is they cannot keep prespective buyers any longer than that, if they want to leave.

I had some friends go through this in Las Vegas. (And did not buy.) The time share company drove them out to the resort, but refused to give them a ride back into town, and verbally insulted them too!

I guess you can expect most anything. Depends how much those tickets are really worth to you.

I have done various time share tours, some with breakfast. I never purchased the time share. Sometimes I offer to go on a self guided tour to save the time of the salesperson, one timeshare (in Boston) took me up on that, the others (mostly near WDW) insisted that a salesman do the tour with me.

I suppose that you can hold them to 90 minutes, not counting the time you are eating their breakfast. You fulfilled your obligation, giving them90 minutes. They will hav fulfilled their obligation if they gave you breakfast if advertised, a courteous tour, and the WDW tickets or whatever prize they advertised.

Have received over the years, not in any order: A wallhanging with clock and picture of WDW with characters, a clock radio, a 3 day WDW hopper (in the days of MK and Epcot only), a 1 day Universal Studios ticket (would have been 2 if I were married), a 1 day WDW ticket (2 if I were married), a movie camera (not worth the visit, a toy if you ask me), a 2 night vacation certificate (totally worthless), a 2 inch pocket color TV (they tried to disparage the TV to get me to choose a lesser gift), a $100. Macy's gift certificate.

We did the Westgate tour and won't be doing any more. They kept us much longer than 90 minutes. Plus they are really high pressure sales. We told the guy up front that we alredy owned somewhere else and were just checking out the place for a possible site to exchange to in the future. They had 3 different people who had to speak to us before someone would sign the sheet for the tickets. Totally not worth our vacation time.

Westgate is probably the most hard sell resort down there..they will keep you longer then 90 minutes and the "breakfast" is mostly coffee, juice and donuts and cereal..
