So, guys, I LOVE WDW!!!! I would be satisfied with visiting The World and ONLY The World at least every 18 months (maximum) I have been blessed to be able to visit four times since May of 2005. I am an addict now. I plan on taking a girls trip with my daughters next June. Tonight I just received an offer from my neighbor offering me the use of their timeshare for $130.00 from Nov. 28-Dec. 5, 2008! My stomach feels like Jello. Is this too good to be true or what? The place is Westgate Resort and she said it is about 10 minutes from The World. I have always stayed onsite but what can I say? Does anyone have any experience with this place? For $130.00 a week, I couldn't complain, right? It's a two bedroom condo that sleeps six, but my husband and I have been married for 31+ years and this would be our first alone trip together (we even spent our "honeymoon" with mother-in-law/brother-in-law (that's another story). As I mentioned before, I would be okay with visiting just Disney World but my husband (63 yrs. old) wants to try other things. We mentioned trying Universal but I don't know what's available for someone who really doesn't ride rollercoasters. I will do some quick research but was hoping I could get some info from someone out there that has some experience to share with me. Sorry for such a long post, but I am so hyped right now!:yay: :yay: :yay:

If it's Westagte Villas it is literally just outside the Disney gates on 192. If its Westgate Lakes you are a couple miles from Downtown Disney & closer to Universal. There are about 6 or 7 other "Westgates" (much smaller) around Orlando - none too far from any of the theme parks. $130 is a GREAT price - you'd be silly to passs it up. Just one word of warning - avoid the sales pitch! No matter which one you're at they are most likely goi g to do everything they can to get you to sit through a pitch. they will call it a maintenance meeting or offer tickets, etc - you DO NOT have to attend and, unless you want the discounted tickets and feel being tortured to get them is worth it, avoid the sales peolpe. Unplug your phone on arrival and either sign up for a meeting when they take you to your unit (they usually do) then "miss it" (thats why you unplug the phone so you won't be bothered with the threats to make you attend) or, if you're up for a fight, say NO to the weasels when they press you to schedule. Other than that things should be fine. Enjoy. And expand beyond Disney - Universal has great shows and non-roller coaster attractions. And a much better nightlife experience than Pleasure Island at City Walk.

Thanks so much for the helpful information! Now I just need to do a little research on the attractions and rides. Is the Universal site the best place to go for that in your opinion?

That's as good a place as any to start.
