Westgate Palace?

Has anyone stayed at the Westgate Palace recently? Was it O.K.? Thanks

We stayed there in November 06 when they for a quick 4 day weekend. They were newly renovated then. They were nicely furnished however our chief complaint were that they were extremely small compared to the layout of your typical timeshare units. Even the whirlpool tub was a standard size bathtub with jets. Like I said they were nicely furnished. Not much for campus amneties though. A pool is all. You are able to use the other Westgate resorts.

Now customer service is O%% over there this was the infamous place were they threw away our stuff. We had to call the police to get them to take a report because they cleared out our hotel room. We went to their sales presentation that morning and called down to the front desk and ask them could we have a late check out because we had to drive over to another location to hear their timeshare presentation. When we returned our room was cleaned out and our stuff gone! I am talking a family of six clothes, cell phones, camera EVERYTHING!!

Long story short we wrote everyone from their corporate office and got zilch.

I fell obligated to tell this story to anyone who ask about Westgate.

There was a reason this property sat nearly abandoned, 1/2 finished for almost a decade and it wasn't because it was pink at the time or had a great location and plenty of features. Westgate as an organization is some of the worse sleaze you'll ever find in timeshare so, although they have done what they can to turn a pig into a hogs ear, even if they built it as their own it wouldn't rise far above an average, so so resort. Since they took over a loser property (for a few cents on the dollar) they are making money but it's not a "resort" that is in any way special. If it's all thats out there and cheap maybe - otherwise avoid it - and most Westgates resorts - as there are far better available and without the slimy sales pressures. Stay away.
