I know everyone has their own beliefs and that's fine. There are just things I don't get.
I am watching a delivery show on DHC right now. There is a family that had natural child birth. Of course I totally support that, in fact more power to you if you can handle that pain. I WISH I could do it ..
However this couple's daughter had a fever over 100 since she was born, two days. The doctor's wanted to do a blood test and then put her on antibiotics due to a possible infection. The parents refused to do the antibiotics and wanted to just wait and see the blood test. I can understand that as well. They get the blood test backs and her counts were very high on a couple of accounts. This is what I don't get ... the parents didn't put her on the antibiotics right away. They "discussed" it and then when the baby girl started to display signs of sickness they put her on them ...
Now I understand that just because I don't "get it" doesn't mean that it's wrong. I know everyone has their thoughts and beliefs. I just don't understand that school of thought. If your newborn has blood counts that are displaying signs of infection and she is physically going down hill I wouldn't think twice about antibiotics to catch it. Just me though ...
Ok, I am done!!! Hopefully this doesn't turn into a flame-fest or debate.
