ETA ~ Airfare purchased, see post 11

What's a good price? What's a great price? We'll fly out of SLC 10/17/13

Early October 2009 I paid around $300 pp for roundtrip direct flights on Delta.

We fly from Denver and have had to pay around $300-$350 round trip to MCO on Southwest, occasionally a little less. We tend to have to pay more when we need to fly on weekends to do cruises. Any other trip down we try to always go on a Thursday and return on a Monday when fares are cheaper.

I do also check the fares for tickets we have already purchased every couple days on the SW site. Often at least one leg of the journey drops in price, and then I just re-book the same flights and apply the credit to our next trip somewhere. One of the many reasons we fly Southwest, and I'd be really sad if they didn't fly to my closest airport!

2 adults one child (9) flying Nov 21 and returning Nov 29
fly out of LAX different airlines $1200-1300
fly out of San Diego United $967
fly out of Long Beach $1200 Jetblue red eye
Southwest was $1500-1600
Haven't decided what flight we are taking yet

We also fly out of SLC and I have been watching airfares for the past year or so. I think the Frontier deal you found is good, I would probably jump on it if you need those specific dates or if you don't want to wait or watch the airfares for the next few months. We actually booked into Tampa right when the dates opened because it was so much cheaper (at the time we booked on SouthWest we paid $266 roundtrip vs. $466 into MCO). I know Southwest was having a deal about 6 weeks ago where the price was $240 roundtrip from SLC to MCO around those dates you mentioned, but I think that was a really great deal and might not be repeated. I do think the Southwest flights will come down in price before your trip, but it's hard to say how much.

Airfare prices have definitely climbed since your last trip in 2009. For us, anything under $400 is good and under $300 is a steal. Just my opinion though! Good Luck!

I've been watching for last 6-8 months, and we finally paid $541 per ticket with Delta since we had a companion ticket, but airfare is awful out of Bozeman, MT always.

It always pays to look earlier. This is the area you can definitely save. Our RT (from MSP, non-stop) is $200 and I booked these in December (will travel in June, yeah!). Right now it is $470 RT each on Delta.com.

We got $112 going there out of Phoenix and $157 coming home on Southwest. We weren't planning on going to Orlando until I found these unheard of rates and jumped on them. We leave in 2 weeks!

I paid 1700 for july 19th -july 28 lax to mco 5 people flying american. I really wanted ONT - MCO and southwest would have been nice for free bags but american was way cheaper this time oh and non stop

Woo hoo! We have flights to MCO! Went with Frontier, purchased just now.
$169 for each of us, not bad.

I'll check *maybe* one bag.
