Hey guys! We are so excited about our 5/10/03 anniversary cruise. I'm starting a list of crucial things to pack and hoped that I could get some ideas from some of you seasoned cruisers!

So far I have snorkel gear, wet socks, underwater camera, binoculars, over-the-door shoe holder!

Thanks!

wow sounds like a lot of STUFF.... to have to bring
we go with the bare essentials . but most of that stuff is on on list as well.... Except for the over the door shoe holder
have not really found that we need that yet................
seems to be plenty of room for us in the stateroom with out it.......... peter

different colored highlighters to highlight activites we want to do in the Navigator..we found this helped alot.

Stack of singles for room service tips

Quarters and laundry tablets if you plan on doing laundry

I always bring coated wire hangars....saves space in the closet and I don't have to ask for extra wooden hangars (I hate those things).

Small, illuminated alarm clock to put by the bed. I always need to see what time it is when I wake in the night. The clocks in the cabin are not illuminated and are on the far side of the cabin.

Thaks guys! I love the hanger idea. I'm always needing more when we arrive somewhere!!!!

Sun tan lotion and some more sun tan lotion. I also brought a small desk top fan (very compact one). I thought it was a must for air circulation, but we had an inside room also.

trampslady....I actually pack all by shirts right on the hangars before we leave home. It makes packing and unpacking a breeze. Just pull them out the suitcase and hang em up!!!

I purchased nice coated wire hangars at Wal-Mart for only $.88 for a pack of 10 or 12. Very durable and easy to pack!!

Many great ideas have been shared... I think there are websites with packing lists... I'm sure someone will share those soon.

A few things I remember hearing are...

ZIP LOC bags (many uses, from packing to putting sandwiches in for lunches in ports)

Air Freshener... They say the rooms get "stale" smelling... I wonder if this is true for the Verandah rooms too?

Hair Dryer - there is one in the bathroom but it is not very powerful

Photo copies of all travel documents (just in case!!!)

Hmmm... I'm sure there are lots more... just can't remember them now...

Black and white film...the pix come out great, especially on Castaway Cay and the ship atrium. Try shooting a roll or 2 for that "noir" look

Great idea about the black and white film! What type pics did you take using the black and white on Castaway? Thanks!

I heard this tip a long time ago, and it is one I am always thankful for. Take along at least 2 swimsuits for yourself and the kids. You can have one swimsuit rinsed and drying and another dry, clean swimsuit to put on. On excursion days, when you might spend an hour or two traveling before you hit the beach, it is nice to have a dry swimsuit on.

Also, it worked out well for us to have a couple of soft side suitcases. We put the seldom-used items, such as snorkel fins etc in the bottom of the soft side luggage and slipped them under the bed until we needed them. It kept the closet free for clothes and other junk.

We always pack at least two swimuits....nothing more annoying to me than trying to get back into a damp swimsuit!!! Yuck!!

I can not stress enough the zipper bags and freezer bags. We used them for wet things, shells, medications etc.

Also I bought a 2 pack of little flash lights at Wal-mart and they were handy in finding the bath room or things at night while the little ones slept.

Bottled H20 which I refilled my bottles with the ships H20 on Deck 2, tasted good to me and I am picky and obessive about my water.

The quarters, shout wipes and laundry tablets are a must!

Next time I also am going to take a little thing of dish soap. It was hard cleaning sippy cups and even the soda mugs after a few days.

I travel size (Target travel aisle) pack of antibactetial wipes is also handy.

I also found packing everyones things in see thru cosmetic bags (Target) was a hit. You could easily go to what you needed. Now I have little ones 2 under 4 so the over the door shoe hanger was not needed but my Category 9 had a shelf over each sink and shelves in corner which I put each persons cosmetic bag on and it kept everything neat and tidy and out of the way.

Books and magazines of course if you even have time, plenty of film, and an extra battery for your camera. A under water camera.

Being a melanoma survivor I suggest lots of sun block and lip block.

Sun glasses and a hat. I could go on but won't :)...........Have fun

Ok 1 more thing, a beach tote. I always take one that I picked up at Old Navy that folds flat in my suitcase.....

I'm planning on packing a "Neat Sheet" . It's a waterproof sheet to use for the beach. Those ship towels are too small to lay down on and this sheet folds down to a small roll. I've seen them at Wal Mart, the grocery store, and even BJS for about $7-$8. Just a suggestion.
